Don't act like putting me anywhere is getting me out of that prison of a city. You wouldn't be doing me any favors; I'd just end up in a different city that's trying to squeeze the last drop of happiness out of me.

It doesn't matter where you put me, anyway—I won't be able to go home either way.

There's only one place I want to go, but it's impossible to go there if I want to stay alive for very long.

National allegiance is all well and good, but if they're tryin' to kill ya, you gotta protect yourself.

Attitude's got nothing to do with it! What would be the point of going back there if everyone was either dead or terrified of me? That's not how I want to live!

We don't gotta beat up everyone. Just the people that try to kill you. We'll leave the innocent ones alone, beating up weaklings who don't want to fight is just bullying.

You're talking about a country who's been fighting on the winning side of a war for a hundred years. If I went back to my country right now, there aren't many people who would accept me. A small handful, maybe.

Those small handful would be enough. Support's gotta start small before it can grow, you know.

A home should never be a place you can't go back to. If something is wrong with it that keeps you from going there, then you gotta fix it. If that means some black eyes and broken legs along the way, then we gotta go with that.

And you can't win forever. I know that for a fact. Your country is gonna lose sometime. That might be a good time to change things.

My country's oppressed everyone to the point where it's impossible to fight back. Out of the four nations, it's the smallest one, yet because of its advances in technology and its overall determination to win, it completely wiped out one nation and colonized another.

[ He sighs. ]

Dude, if he was in control and doing the things he was doing, I would have. Maybe not kill him, but definitely would have knocked him out. And maybe broke a rib or arm or something.

Sometimes you gotta fight your family, sad as it is when it happens. If what they're doing is wrong, you not doing anything to stop them is just as bad.

[ He can deal with fighting his sister. Not killing her, but fighting her. His father, though.... ]

You're lucky; you're strong enough to fight your family and win. That isn't the case for me.

Well hey. I wouldn't be the King of Fighters if I couldn't beat just anyone.

Why not just train until you can kick his ass?

I have been training. Even if I'm stronger than I was three years ago, the problem is that they're training, too.

You gotta get something you can use against them. A powerful technique or something that'll blow 'em away.

I'd teach you my stuff, but a lot of it is related with bloodline. But you can use fire, can't ya? [ His mun told him so. ] I guess that's close to my powers too.

[ Not even surprised that his secret's been leaked again. But at least the people who know and aren't from his world don't want to kill him. Probably. Besides, it sounded like he'd known from the start about Zuko's firebending. ]

...Yeah. I can use fire, but the way I create and control it is probably different from how you do it. You think your moves would translate well enough that I could work them into my own?

[ And in the back of his mind, he wonders why this guy even cares. ]

Yeah, I figured. Let's see. [ He holds up his finger, and a small flame starts at the tip of it. ]

I just kind of...do it. Controlling it is something I grew up learning, but as far as making it goes, I just kinda tell my body to, and it does it.

A lot of what I do is martial arts though, so it might work.
