Worse. I bought out my sire's business without realizing it. This also apparently took well over half the funds the Cam needed for that city.

Yeah. It affected my sire's standing with the Prince, too, and since I was his responsibility, he's the one who arranged that I had to die.

Since I didn't really have much else in the way of options, I went to the Sabbat for ... sanctuary.

Ha! No blood binding for me, actually. Most of the West Coast Sabbat is Salubri and Tzimisce. I started ahead of time before I went to them, spreading rumors comparing them to the Tremere.

They were so enraged that the blood binding rituals have since become a thing of the past for this branch.

That'll no doubt change soon after I leave. They don't even understand what it would mean if they suddenly lost their financial support or if the identities of their Elders and 'commanders' were outed to the public. Nothing to link back to vampires as a whole, but I had plenty of evidence to finger them as plain old fashioned serial killers and murderers.

They may not respect humans, but a fully armed SWAT team can still bring down a Sabbat cell.

Eventually I'll be fully independent. Neither side will want to touch me for fear of my economic and social reprisal, and each group will be in a position to want to curry my favor and deal with me as an appropriately unbiased and disinterested third party.

I in turn get to continue playing them off of one another, escalating and managing their feud while simultaneously profiting heavily off it.

The big point I'm trying to make is that unlike the Sabbat and several members of the Camarilla, I actually like being around humans.

Uh...financing and profiting off Cainite wars? I mean, if you like humans, you really ought to think about the fact that large numbers of them will end up as cannon fodder.

There's the confusion. See, think of this: right now, what regulates the war between the Camarilla and the Sabbat? Mostly nothing except access to funds and other resources.

As a third party, I can manage it. In my position as that third party, I can keep the wars under wraps, control the various factions' access to resources that allow them to war, and if need be, I can call down human authority on their heads.

As for fitting in purses, I'll try and avoid that fate. Say what you will about the current vampiric society, but making friends among the current generations seems to make honest friends. Less so the elders.

Well, I can't argue with that. Elders have much to fear from young whipper snappers. Thin Bloods are especially dangerous. Dhampir are even worse.

It's not a bad position to be in, and being a Ventrue isn't necessarily a bad thing. Better that than one of those sick fleshcrafters.

You shoulda been in Phoenix. No Princes. It was a total disaster that started with a fleshcrafted bar running wild through the city and ended with airstrikes and a complete wipeout of the Cainite population.
