Well, here we are in a new and strange place...as always.
Ah, hello my dear mundane. Here we are again, for the first time, hmm? How long you've considered allowing me frrree reign.
[A smile]
And such interesting people here, too. Hmm? Yes, I'm well aware you've gotten a better reception in games here in short order than in all your time at livejournal, and I'm more than willing to pass the compliment from your brain to my mouth - but we do have other things to discuss. Now, there's bound to be an Ace about somewhere. I would, of course, not at all mind seeing a familiar face.
[And keeping an eye on her, his friend, his pupil, his surrogate daughter in many ways.]
Well, time and tide melt the snowman. And I'd best be off. Somewhere, sometime, something is happening that I need to be a part of. Or that I'll at least prod my nose into. Let's go, mundane - once more unto the time vortex.

I like it. [He would.]

As does she. A fitting nom de guerre, as they say.
no subject
I'm Luke.

He shakes his head in the negative.
"I scarcely dare think about what would happen were she to find herself airborne."
no subject
Aww. Well, there's only two ways to find out. ...Three. ...Okay, a lot more than that, but you know what I mean.
no subject
I believe I do. And yes, Earth. I come from rather further afield as you may already know.
no subject
[His greatest enthusiasms are flight and other worlds, in case there was any doubt.]
Earth's got trees, right? People say it's a little like Corellia, but I haven't been there yet. Corellia, I mean. Earth is a completely different galaxy or reality or whatever.

[A tip of the hat]
Undoubtedly so, undoubtedly so. But then, such has always been our taste in companions, hasn't it?

So, where are you now? I wish I could reciprocate, of course.

[Romana pauses and smiles warmly.]
Good to see you again, Doctor.
no subject
And you, Romana. It has been some time. Tell me, where are you now? The Guardians? Adric?

President of the Supreme Council of Gallifrey and all her Dominions. Holder of the Wisdom of Rassilon. Preserver of the Matrix. Guardian of the Legacy of Omega. Keeper of the Rod and Sash of Rassilon.

[He's pleased, secretly. She's about the only person he'd actually want in the position. The least likely to be corrupted. A decided improvement over the last incumbents]
no subject
So, as far as you're concerned, I'm still in E-Space, then.
[Well, at lease she knows what she can and can't talk about. After all, he's the one who rescued her. Literally, this version of him.]

[A smile]
But only for the moment.

You're the Doctor, yeah? 'm Rose Tyler. 'm goin' to travel with you...later? Pretty sure it's later. I...sorta absorbed the time vortex once. Kind of accidentally.
no subject
Indeed I am, Miss Tyler. [He lifts his hat] And very pleased to meet you, before I meet you, as it were. Time has a way with such things, doesn't it?

[And thus, a catch-phrase is born.]
And it appears my taste in traveling companions does not degrrrade, which is quite a nice surprise.

There is such a thing as allowing for some drrramatic license, my dear lady.
[He tosses his umbrella with one hand, catching and spinning it with the other, the epitome of showmanship]
Besides, the Shakespeare doesn't work, otherwise. Always be willing to bend to make a convincing statement - even if it is, in every particular way, entirely false.
