Tony's not a terrible person. But Howard put a lot of pressure on him and he changed under that pressure, and sometimes his character flaws can seem like they're all he is. They're not. There's a big heart underneath all the armor, and I'm not talking about the suit.

Most people are good, deep down.

He's come a long way. He used to be worse in a lot of respects, but I've really seen a change in him since he's become Iron Man. He still has no sense of scale - he bought me a greenhouse for Mother's Day - but he's trying, bless his heart.
