[Of course Mary wasn't going anywhere! She was quite happy with where she was, thank you.]

It's not very nice to call JC that, Judas. [Oh she thinks she's being witty, but it falls when JC tries to get the other to slow down and join them.]

No, you're right. [Judas says without thinking all that much about it, but the had on his elbow makes him look back at Jesus, frowning slightly.]

If I was calling him something, it'd be Queen. [As in Drama Queen.

But he does sigh and moves to actually just walk beside Jesus, with JC between him and Mary.]

[While he didn't plan on having a tantrum, the scowl on his face was horribly adorable and even though his nostrils flared, it was hard to take him seriously. It might well end up being a trantrum any way.]

Why are you obsessed with fighting!? Stop it!

[The metal accessories in her hair clink quietly together when Mary turns her head sharply to look at the scowl on JC's face. She didn't think they were fighting and even if they were? Judas started it.]

I'd think it's more like friendly disagreement more than anything. [But she looks away from both of them while they walk, keeping her eyes on the road ahead instead.]

[It had been the closest they had come to joking with each other probably... ever, but when JC decides it was fighting, Judas can only shrug. He walks in silence, slowly wearing down his cigarette, feeling less irritable with the nicotine in his veins.

By the time they got to the grocery store, Judas had it in his mind what they needed. Two boxes of pancake mix unless it was on sale. Bisquik could use water instead of milk - better buy. Strawberries. (Make JC happy.) He'll see what is on sale.]

[There's very little friendly about the two and while there might be some ribbing, even at his expense, two moments later it would turn into an all out grumble fest and nope! Not doing that! He decides to keep his hands to himself and slips them into his pocket instead. Shops are always places he's liked being, not because he's ever been able to afford much, but because he likes the smell of the produce and the bakery. It's just nice. And he also likes to poke at the bread. Secretly. Secretly. Shh. While Judas is off procuring just what they'll need, Jesus tugs Mary down to the bakery aisle.]

One day Judas will agree to raisin toast.

[It was just a little whim of his. At least no one really recognized him here. It was too early for that.]

[Perhaps it was just too early in the day for that sort of teasing. No matter; she and Judas would get their usual bickering in sometime today.

Her hands clutched the strap of her bag when they were let go of by JC. Fine.

In the store though, she paused to take in the smell. A little odd, but she could smell the fruits and baked goods which were always good. It put her in better spirits, so there was a smile on her face when she's pulled to the baking area.]

He doesn't like raisin toast? Oh JC, why do you keep him~?

[It was meant to be a joke with her tone and hopefully JC would take it as such.]

[Judas would have turned on her in a heartbeat if he had been around to hear that. Instead, he had gone off to get some actual work done. Jesus never... tends to be any good when it comes to actually getting something done in the form of shopping. He pokes and prods and fingers clothing and-- practical. Jesus Christ just is not a practical man.

So he goes about getting what they need, picking up strawberries as requested (though they aren't on sale, but he won't say anything), then goes hunting JC down.]

[It's a good question and one that Jesus doesn't even hesitate to answer...and with such a smile too.]

Because he keeps me. And because I need him.

[He might have said the same for any of his Twelve and Mary herself if she asked, he might even have had the same dreamy dark eyes and the sweet little upturn of his lips too. Jesus doesn't know or understand romantic love but, in many ways, he is love. And therefore, he can not help but love Judas passionately. And Mary. And Peter, Simon, Matthew, James-- All of them.]

But most of all because I love him.

[They had to nurture Judas into having a sense of humor. Seriously. Her humor falls on death ears so scratch the idea of Judas needing to be taught humor. Both he and JC needed to learn it. Sheesh.

Mary's face falls to something a little more serious when JC tells her just why he keeps Judas around. It was probably the same reason why he kept everyone around.]

I think you love everyone, JC.

[Judas has a sense of humor, thank you very much. It's just his very own unique special kind. That rarely showed itself. Still, there had been times in the past, with the Twelve, that he had shown it. Sometimes a shitty childhood could spoil a man's sense of humor.

Still, it isn't long before he spots them, a basket on his arm and a brow up.]

...Were you poking the breads again, JC?

That's the way things are suppose to be, Mary.

[His smile is so lovely right up until Judas sneaks up on him. His eyes narrow slightly.]

I do not poke bread.

[Not a lie!]

I just... Squeeze it a little. And no. I haven't been!

I like the way you do things then, JC.

[It's almost like a dark cloud coming over their little bread party when Judas arrives, but Mary tries not to let it get her down as she turns her head to look at him.]

He's not lying - he actually hasn't touched anything since our arrival here.

[This is Judas' little way of poking fun at JC, but Mary wouldn't understand that.]

JC doesn't lie. He likes to twist things, sometimes. [Mary would miss the bit of a smile towards Jesus.]

Including his bread fondling.

I do not fondle bread!

[But at least he's laughing. That's a good sign.]

It smells so good! Let's get out of this aisle before I get accused of milestone baked goods any more.

[He slings one arm around Mary's shoulders and the other he slipped through Judas' arm.]

[Even Mary's smiling, laughing a bit at the conversation. With JC's arm around her, she easily puts her own around his waist.]

Did you find everything you need, Judas?

[Probably one of the more pleasant things she's said all morning.]

[Judas' eyes flicker down to Mary's arm around JC, then he has to force himself not to draw away or react while they're out in public, in particular with Jesus' arm linked to his.]

I did, even the strawberries.

[Be proud of how level he kept his voice there, JC. Be proud. ...Yep.]

[Well Judas, he's not sure what he should be proud of okay? But strawberries... Those are distracting. Even from how nice it is to be between his two favourite people.]

[Breakfast was going to be amazing! And difficult to watch for some people.]

[Even the strawberries? How nice of you Judas! Well, it's easy to give into what JC asks of you because he was such a likeable guy! An idea popped up in her head and there was a twinkle in those dark eyes... but no, Judas wouldn't go for it. Mary knew better and it would be wrong to get JC to ask for her.

Well, she had pieces in her bag! She could get it herself!]

Go ring up your things, I'll be there in a moment. [Pecking JC's cheek with a chaste kiss (one that may have left a smudge of pink lipstick), she darted out from their leader's arm and out of sight into an aisle behind them.]

[Judas watches as Mary walks off, but when he turns back to JC, he spots that lipstick and scowl. He reaches up and rubs the lipstick away with his thumb, so close, before he gestures with his chin.]

Come on. Let's pay for this and you can dig into the strawberries. You won't get many if the others see them.

[The lipstick doesn't bother him. He rather fancies kisses to his cheek. Mary gives good ones. That said, he likes Judas' hand on his cheek too and leans into it briefly.]

I plan on sharing.

[Of course he is. He shares everything to the point where he won't eat until he's sure the rest have been fed. He's just one of those guys.]

[You're such a spoilsport, Judas. Does that bit of colored wax bother you? There were other things to worry over! Mary seems to take her time wherever she's gone, and she doesn't reappear until minutes after the men have checked out. She's pleasant through checkout, and as she walks to meet with them, she's pushing the small purchase in her own bag. There was no bothering with a article bag, or a receipt for that matter.]

Ready to go back to camp~? I'd like to see Miryam again.

[It's about the implications of the colored wax, woman. He tries to spot what she wasted her money on but ends up just looking to the side, nodding, bags on his arms.]

Let's head back. And the kitten can survive an hour or so without you guys - Peter's probably spoiling her rotten.

Miryam's probably got poor Peter beside himself.

[He was pretty sure she had snuck off on the youngest member of their group and Peter was freaking out. He shouldn't laugh at stuff like that. Poor Peter.]

But I miss her too. And she probably misses her jungle gym.

[He laughs as he puts his arm around Judas.]

Do either of you want me to carry anything?

[Mary almost wishes to be there just to see Peter freaking out while she pets Miryam. Now that would be some breakfast entertainment.]

No, mine's just a new thing of grapeseed oil I can use on you later tonight~ [She found no shame in what she did, even though it wasn't anything terrible. Unless you could giving JC a good shoulder and back rub indecent.]
