I keep thinking that, perhaps, one day I'd like to own a cat.  Something small and little that can mostly look after itself.

The road can get lonely.

And we actually have a lot of PBR boxes laying around.  According to Youtube, cats love to push themselves into boxes.

[JC is between herself and Judas, and Mary's fine with that. There's half of a pancake left on her plate (the kitten was a welcomed distraction!) and when Judas takes his seat, Mary busies herself at eating it again.

Seeing JC offer to feed the fruit to Judas is amusing, so there's no hiding the smirk around her little fork at the sight.]

[Judas doesn't think too much about it as he leans over and takes the strawberry between his teeth, pulling back and reaching up to tug the little green leaves forward so he could hold it. Jesus' noises about the strawberries could be sinful, but he never thought of the man himself as such. Just... affectionate, yet somehow in a non-sexual way. Even when in the past it had driven Judas mad.]

They're actually pretty good. [He mutters after he finishes the first bite.]

Would we lie?

[Look at this grinning face as he snags an arm around dear Mary. Go on Mary, grin along with him! The kitten, however, has other ideas. The only problem is, when stealing pancakes, one should pick a slice smaller than one's body!]

[They're good because neither JC or Mary made them.]

Of course we wouldn't! Not about food at least.

[Mary leans into the arm pulling her close and grins up at him, looking quite content! There was a kitten, pancakes, and strawberries! Things were good this morning - until she spies little Miryam trying to make off with the last chunk of her pancake.]

Oh no you don't -- [She balances the paper plate carefully and picks up the kitten out of food range.] Little scavenger!

[Thankfully at least a few of the Twelve could manage to cook. Thaddeus was definitely the best among them.

Judas' lips lift a little at the sight of the kitten as he pointedly ignores Jesus holding Mary close. He has to or he's libel to just storm off again. He knows she's just trying to get in close to JC. She doesn't really care about him.]

Strawberries don't listen to people's decisions about them being good or not. Never know if you'll get bland ones.

[Perhaps one day, the degree of Judas' misplaced jealousy would bother him. Today is not that day. In fact, he's much too happy with James playing guitar and the strawberries and the kitten! He snags Miryam before she can get yelled at and feeds her little pieces of pancake too. He had no idea if that's what kittens eat, though.]

We ought to get moving.

Matthew has flyers for the next town already made up. And we've had a good breakfast. We can travel far today.

[It bothered Mary, but they already argued enough. She knew that not everyone was going to like each other, and settled with the fact that Judas was just always going to be suspicious and mean-spirited towards her. He was the only one that made her feel unwanted, but it wasn't enough to send her away!]

I'll tell the others to pack up if you want.

[Give Judas some alone time with JC, to keep him from feeling like Mary's hogging him so much. Or whatever he did when he brooded like a kid who had his favorite toy taken from him.]

[All he wanted was to protect Jesus. He's still sure that she's doing all of this for her own petty reasons, with no idea just how badly she could hurt him. On top of that, things are starting to get bigger and bigger around camp, putting him on edge.

He looks to Jesus, finishing up the last of his pancakes.]

The crowds are getting bigger and bigger recently. [He knows Simon's pleased as punch by it, everyone else seems to be, but how long before the Romans aren't happy with it? Or anyone?]

[Jesus put his arms around Mary as he thanked her, perhaps hugging her a little too long or too warmly but he was human and being human meant that, sometimes, he had favourites.]

Judas, it's the crowds we want. It means the Word is reading more people. It proves we're making a difference. Why does it scare you so?

[Mary goes and lets the others know that they were getting ready to leave for the next place. Sometimes she'll glance over at JC and Judas, hearing bits and pieces of the conversation.

Judas was sort of a nuisance to her because of how he spoke to her, but she tolerated him for JC's sake. That man was a sort of thorn in the group that everyone apparently learned to deal with. Or maybe that was just her.]

Can't you see it? [Judas looks to Jesus in confusion, brows pinching together.] The bigger we grow, the more the government and the priests are going to turn and look at us. You really don't think there's going to be issues if the crowds grow larger and larger?
