app-writing woes and new muse nerves
[ Samples are the bane of the mun's existence, and to top it off the new muse here is a tricky little guy. Link isn't much of a talker, but that doesn't mean he can't encourage someone some other way! He offers a reassuring smile. ]
I know it seems hard, but you can do it! ...are you sure two games isn't too much for you right now, though?
I know it seems hard, but you can do it! ...are you sure two games isn't too much for you right now, though?
YEAHHHH
Uh, no, not exactly! Well, I guess so. You from a different world, is the best way to describe it!
Like, we're not exactly alike-- you're you, and I'm still me, right? But our worlds are liii...ii...
[MUST... NOT...]
--connected! Yeah, connected. Lots of stuff is the same, but lots of stuff is also really different, too! If that makes any sense.
I declare this thread the most beautiful thread ever sweet mother of nayru
Oooooh! [ That makes sense! Kind of. GOSH THIS IS KINDA NEAT. ]
So how did you go from one to the other?
[ His immediate first thoughts are telling him: portal somewhere on the Great Sea, some special island he hasn't found yet, or goddess pearl shenanigans of some kind. That's all the experience he has at this point in time.
Oh, honey, just wait til the ghost ship kidnaps your girlfriend. You're in for a RIDE.]YES it's absolutely wonderful
Oh, y'know, magic portals, that kinda thing! And special powers! ...Though you need a heck of a lot of magic charge just to pull it off, and the little number I was using for a travel ticket kiiiiinda broke in the end. But it was nice while it lasted! Heading on over to Hyrule was definitely one of my better ideas, heh heh.

[ Portals? Magic? Sweet, that sounds really cool--
Wait, Hyrule? This is where you've lost him. Hyrule's at the bottom of the ocean, bro. You can't make a sales pitch to a non-existent population. Link stares at Ravio blankly. ]
Why would you wanna go there?
no subject
[Blink blink. What's with that stunned stare? Something on his face? He's reaching up to rub his nose when he hears that next question and stops mid-scratch.]
Whaddaya mean, 'why'? It was a heckuva lot safer than home, that's for sure! Probably still is, matter of fact. Why're you looking at me like that, huh? You're still living th-- you're not living there anymore, huh. I can see it on your mug, buddy!
no subject
[ Link doesn't even shake his head at this. He's just going to give you an even odder look before stating the reason behind it very, very plainly: ]
...Hyrule's at the bottom of the sea. [ Nobody that lives down there anymore, that's for sure. ]
no subject
...HA! That's a good one, 'bottom of the sea'! Gosh, where do you get this stuff? Never took you for a joker, buddy, but you're really splittin' my sides here! That place is hardly even near the...
...The...
[Give him a second.]
...
WHAAAAAAAA?!
no subject
It was just an old story. I didn't even know it existed until the King took me there.
no subject
Man, oh man, oh man... So what's everything like now? Besides, uh. Wet?
no subject
Well...the King says that the gods flooded Hyrule to seal away Ganon. [ And look how long THAT lasted. ]
no subject
Sheesh, that's pretty extreme. Wonder if the gods would do that for my side of the cracks... And let me guess, he's back? You'd think a guy would take a hint after getting beat up a bunch of times and then all that water dumped on him.
no subject
[ Link nods. Yep. Ganon's definitely back. Just can't get rid of him, can ya? ] Uh-huh. He's in the Forsaken Fortress now.
[ And Link's got a whole bucket list of reasons why he needs to take that guy down. First of all: You had his sister kidnapped, you jerk. >:C ]
no subject
What a name for a place, eh? Forsaken Fortress. ...Though it sounds a little like some of the places back home. I guess we're not great at naming things, either.
Anyway, if you're the one putting him back in his place, then I'm sure Hyrule or whatever you guys are calling what's on top of it is gonna be just fine!
no subject
What about Lorule? Is Ganon there, too? [ He's got an inter-dimensional twin there, so it would make sense if Ganon had one as well...right? ]
no subject
Powerful, though. He couldn't deny that kind of magic. And their ambitions seemed the same.]
Well, I'm not thrilled at the thought of him coming back over and over, but yeah. He goes by Yuga... at least, I'm pretty sure that's the guy we're talking about. The details get kinda fuzzy what with everything that happened back home...
no subject
What happened?
no subject
He's the guy who found out how to get into Hyrule in the first place-- that's the only thing I'd ever be grateful for.
He tricked our princess into thinking that stealing from you guys would save our land from disappearing, all so he could get his hands on your Ganon's powers and try to take both worlds. I mean-- it gets more complicated than that, but she... we thought we could trust him, and it nearly cost everyone everything..!
no subject
Didn't anyone stop him?!
no subject
[small, frustrated noises go here--]
...I just couldn't do it by myself.
...That's where you-- or the Link I met-- came in.
[He doesn't exactly sound proud of it, either. Yuga, Hilda, even Ravio himself all had to take from Hyrule to help themselves, didn't they?]
no subject
He helped you, right?
[ His voice is hopeful, but there's a tinge of worry to it. ]
no subject
...Yeah. He helped me.
He did all the things I couldn't do, heh.
no subject
Okay nah that ain't right. He's not having any of that. ]
But you're me! If I can do something, so can you!
[ Come on, Ravio, don't you do that to him. ]
no subject
L-look, it's not that simple! I'm me, too, y'know, and I never-- I'm not...
[Admitting that he's a giant chicken to Hilda seemed easier, but to a (younger, peppier?) mirror of himself? Decidedly more difficult.]
no subject
But you said so yourself! You're me from a different world!
no subject
[Flailing some, here. Yeah, he should've been able to do all that stuff, but he never had the guts to! Maybe it was something to do with the Triforce being... well. What it was, at the time?]
