An old story? No kidding! A bajillion years must've passed or some crazy nuts thing must've happened if the whole place got flooded out! Man, and what if it leaked through the portal?! WHAT IF LORULE'S A BIG PUDDLE, TOO?!

Man, oh man, oh man... So what's everything like now? Besides, uh. Wet?

Well, I've only been there a couple of times, but it's really empty. The castle's still there, though. [ It's somewhat run-down, but hey, that still counts, right? Link doesn't particularly like it there. It's too quiet, too eerie. No people, no wind...nothing. It's downright spooky. ]

Well...the King says that the gods flooded Hyrule to seal away Ganon. [ And look how long THAT lasted. ]

So, wait, let me get this straight. You can still visit it, all the way down there? That's... neat! Sounds pretty creepy now, but neat!

Sheesh, that's pretty extreme. Wonder if the gods would do that for my side of the cracks... And let me guess, he's back? You'd think a guy would take a hint after getting beat up a bunch of times and then all that water dumped on him.

Sort of. The King brings me there sometimes. [ It's always a neat trip, that's for sure. But his first time was really full of eeriness. Especially once you notice the extremely faint bgm. ]

[ Link nods. Yep. Ganon's definitely back. Just can't get rid of him, can ya? ] Uh-huh. He's in the Forsaken Fortress now.

[ And Link's got a whole bucket list of reasons why he needs to take that guy down. First of all: You had his sister kidnapped, you jerk. >:C ]

[...Okay yeah THAT'S super creepy. Ravio huffs for a moment-- Yuga and Ganon are still pretty fresh in his mind, after all. Still, if Link's still up for kicking his butt that far into the future...!]

What a name for a place, eh? Forsaken Fortress. ...Though it sounds a little like some of the places back home. I guess we're not great at naming things, either.

Anyway, if you're the one putting him back in his place, then I'm sure Hyrule or whatever you guys are calling what's on top of it is gonna be just fine!

[ Link nods. Sure, the going is a little tough, but he's never been one to give up a task based on difficulty alone. Still, he kinda wonders... ]

What about Lorule? Is Ganon there, too? [ He's got an inter-dimensional twin there, so it would make sense if Ganon had one as well...right? ]

[He thinks on that for a moment, brows knitting together. He wouldn't exactly call the guy quite as fierce or frightening... at least not in the same way.

Powerful, though. He couldn't deny that kind of magic. And their ambitions seemed the same.]

Well, I'm not thrilled at the thought of him coming back over and over, but yeah. He goes by Yuga... at least, I'm pretty sure that's the guy we're talking about. The details get kinda fuzzy what with everything that happened back home...

[ So there was one. From the way Ravio talks about him, he's just as bad news as the Ganon he's had to deal with. Link is already wary from the sound of things alone. ]

What happened?

[It's very rare that Ravio gets mad about something besides people touching his Rupee stash, but there's definitely some anger in how he's talking about this guy.]

He's the guy who found out how to get into Hyrule in the first place-- that's the only thing I'd ever be grateful for.

He tricked our princess into thinking that stealing from you guys would save our land from disappearing, all so he could get his hands on your Ganon's powers and try to take both worlds. I mean-- it gets more complicated than that, but she... we thought we could trust him, and it nearly cost everyone everything..!

[ Kidnapping innocent girls is one thing. Also, cursing the great sea? Destroying entire islands? Yeah, pretty bad. Deceiving people and trying to take over two entire worlds? Pretty freakin' bad. Link is on edge; this Yuga doesn't sound like someone he'd want to tangle with, especially after adding Ganon's strength to the equation. Part of him is a bit scared, the other part fierce. ]

Didn't anyone stop him?!

Well, yeah, of course! The princess might've believed him, and-- maybe I did too for a while because I trust her but I wasn't about to let him get away with that! I just...

[small, frustrated noises go here--]

...I just couldn't do it by myself.

...That's where you-- or the Link I met-- came in.

[He doesn't exactly sound proud of it, either. Yuga, Hilda, even Ravio himself all had to take from Hyrule to help themselves, didn't they?]

[ Well, Ravio, you've got his attention. Link feels a little bit anxious about this, to be truthful. Some small part of him tells him that something is amiss; some tiny, tiny voice is warning him he isn't going to like this at all, but he's more interested in whatever else Ravio has to say. ]

He helped you, right?

[ His voice is hopeful, but there's a tinge of worry to it. ]

[What happened to all his energy from earlier? Ravio's silent for a minute before he nods, smiling thinly. It's still sincere, but that bitter feeling hasn't quite gone away...]

...Yeah. He helped me.

He did all the things I couldn't do, heh.

[ He did all the things you couldn't--

Okay nah that ain't right. He's not having any of that. ]

But you're me! If I can do something, so can you!

[ Come on, Ravio, don't you do that to him. ]

[Aaaaand there it is. Visible wince at that, there!]

L-look, it's not that simple! I'm me, too, y'know, and I never-- I'm not...

[Admitting that he's a giant chicken to Hilda seemed easier, but to a (younger, peppier?) mirror of himself? Decidedly more difficult.]

[ As far as Link is concerned, this is easy to understand. It makes perfect sense in his head, at least. ]

But you said so yourself! You're me from a different world!

That's just it! It's different, and the difference being-- b-being the you from Lorule can't fight monsters or crazy wizards! I can't remember if I've even swung a sword in my whole life, never mind the magic evil-banishing kind!

[Flailing some, here. Yeah, he should've been able to do all that stuff, but he never had the guts to! Maybe it was something to do with the Triforce being... well. What it was, at the time?]

Why not?

[ It's less of a normally-asked question and more of the one someone asks when they want justification or explanation. Something about this isn't sitting very well with him, and his face alone could make that known to the world; he's a habit of speaking through mannerisms and countenance more than words, after all.

Although, his upset gaze is softening a little. That things would be so different in another world isn't impossible, after all, but he's not sure he particularly likes it. ]

[Ravio, on the other hand, is used to running his mouth all the time-- maybe it's making up for his hood-wearing? He definitely looks a lot less... collected without the thing on.]

I don't... I don't have the courage that you do.

Maybe some other me did before, but... if I even spot a monster from far away, my first instinct is 'get the heck outta there!', not 'go beat him up and save the day'. I wish it was! Would've made things a heck of a lot easier.

[ So that was it. Link's shoulders sag a little bit. To not have courage would certainly make saving his sister pretty hard, let alone facing down Ganon. Many of his trials relied on other things, sure - sheer force of will, for one, and lots of trial and error while deciphering the various obstacles in his path - but he'd had to brave many intimidating things as well. ]

[ Truth be told, Link's a bit more high strung than his other counterparts, but that doesn't make him any less capable of powering through moments of chaos and coming out the other side a victor. Still, many of the things that tested him were more than just scary monsters and Big, Bad, Sister-Kidnapping Giant-Bird-Commanding Wizards. ]

...but you went looking for help. And you left your world. Wasn't that scary?

[Ravio tugs weakly at the buck-teeth of his hat, shrugging a little. What he did sure didn't feel like bravery at the time. Wasn't it just running away? Hilda certainly seemed to think so at the time...

The best of intentions, he'd said. And it was, wasn't it? Even if he did make Link do most of the work.]

Well, yeah, it was terrifying. I didn't know if I'd even be able to get back home. But... leaving for a chance at fixing everything wasn't as scary as staying and letting everything go to ruin. That's what I figure, anyway.

[ Link tilts his head a little. Seeing Ravio all upset is making him upset too :( Come on buddy you can't be THAT bad! ]

You just wanted to help, right? I did, too.

[ Insert reassuring smile here. He's not the best at this sort of thing, but he can't watch someone be all down like this and do nothing. It doesn't sit well with him. ]

[A-aww, Link! The support means a lot, coming from him, even when he's teeny and from the future. And thankfully, Ravio's the type to bounce back quickly, especially if they're -- hopefully-- getting off the courage subject.]

Hey, that much doesn't change, right? And it all turned out better in the end.

[His grin in return's a little sheepish, but hey! He's found other ways of helping. And maybe it's all a perspective thing! At any rate, he'll try not to dwell on it too long.]

[ Link can't turn his back on this sorta thing. It's kind of an unspoken law of the universe at this point. ]

[ Beaming smile is a go! Link nods. ]

See? If I can do it, so can you!

I've just got my own special brand of helping out, that's all! I mean... maybe I could try the whole hero thing again. Should that come up. Hopefully it won't! I'm predicting cushy times ahead for Lorule, at least for the time being--

[Quick glance upwards. Mun, stop thinking those things you're thinking. ~~YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO APP TO GAMES. SOB~~] Yeah, that's right, Lorule! I'm good with not going to Crazy Fairy Town, thanks!
