Natasha reached and cupped his cheek, whispering in his ear. "What happens when you are with someone the Hulk likes?"

"I don't know," he says softly, "this whole integration thing is knew to both of us and I'm learning that his likes and dislikes can change at the drop of a hat."

"He wouldn't hurt me," She said confidently. "I trust you okay?" Nat said softly.

"I want to be with you, and I want us to figure out what that means okay?"

"I want to be with you too," Bruce says stroking her hair, "all of you and if that means letting the Hulk out more often then I'll do it."

She leaned into his touch, relishing in it for a moment, before looking back up at him. "You know that I wouldn't care if you never changed again, I would be fine with that. I just want you to be happy," She said, as she pulled back so she could look him in eye.


"You are the only one that gets all of me," She whispered. "You know that right?" She whispered right before she pressed her lips against his.

"You know I don't let just anyone shoot guns near my face in small places," he replies, "but I let you do it because I trust you Nat. I trust you and I always will." He kisses her back still holding her tight.

Natasha wrapped her arms around Bruce, holding him tighter than she probably should have, but she was so used to everything in her life disappearing that she didn't want to add his name to list.

She pulled back slightly. "We have terrible timing, but screw it, I don't care. SHIELD can take a back seat. This is important."

"Did you know that you are the only one who sees past all off my damn defenses?" She muttered, somewhat in shock.

"We work in a business where death is a daily fact of life. I'm amazed any of us manages to act like a monk with that dangling in our face," he mutters softly, "As for seeing past your defenses it takes one to know one doesn't it? You knew my number from the moment we met. It was just a matter of time until we crashed together."

Nat couldn't help but agree with him. She looked at him for the longest time, deciding for once in her life just to make the leap.

"And are you upset that it is me you crashed into?"

"Not upset but more weirded out...I mean my other half did try to kill you at one point.," Bruce says, "but I never do anything I don't want to do you all figured that out pretty quickly."

"I weird you out?" She asked, amused but not.

"Hey, I am still here and short of dying, I am never going to leave you, okay?"

"Yes you did weird me out a bit not much anymore if it helps," he says, "and I get it.....I'm stuck with you for good....which isn't a horrible thing...not at all."

"It is my job to weird people out though," She mused, looking at him. "About time you got it through your head That you are not alone in this."

"Us genuis types can be pretty dense," Bruce jokes warmly though he'd admit that his change had more to do with the Avengers then just himself. Betty was willing to let him run away rather than confront the Hulk even though she accepted him, the other Avengers however pushed Bruce to be himself just as much as he ended up being the Hulk. This was forcing Bruce and the big guy to coexist more and more.

"Yes, yes you can," She replied playfully. "Your lucky that I happen to like dense."

"You must also like full body dragging me away from my lab when I work too hard," he says chuckling, "you and Pepper have gotten very good at Science Bro tag teaming us."

Natasha shrugged her shoulders some. "I almost gave up you know? I never thought that you would let me in."

She smiled. "It's not your fault you know? That I got attacked by Hulk. That was the plan."

"I know that now," Bruce said softly, "And props to Loki for working out the best and worst distraction ever. I'm glad the big guy got some serious hits in."

He presses a kiss to her hair. "I'm glad you didn't give up on me either. I loved Betty I really did, but she was the type of girl old me needed. You are the type of woman I need now."

Natasha smiled, as she leaned into Bruce. She hummed at the words, they were what he needed to hear.

"I'm curious Doc. What kind of a woman am I?"

"Strong, beautiful, smart. You know how to train with me and you aren't afraid of anything. You don't stand down when I'm being stubborn and you are willing to wait until I'm ready to give you what you need." Bruce says simply.

Nat's heart melted a little at that. Smiling softly, she reached up and cupped his cheek.

"As long as you need. This is going to work right?"

He strokes one hand down her arm as he leans into her touch. "Yes we are going to make this work. It might not be white picket fence land but who the heck wants that."

"Do I look like the white picket fence type of girl?" She asked softly. "I just want to feel safe, safe enough to be myself, and leave all the bullshit at the door."

She stroked his cheek. "Can you give me that?"

"No, not you don't," Bruce says softly, "and I can make you feel safe because you make me feel safe. For the first time I want to stay in one place. I want to see what the future holds."

"I'm scared," She admitted softy, not wanting to look at him because she had never admitted that to another living soul before.

"Not of you, but of this," She stated softly. "I have never dared to hope for this. People like me don't get this."
