You know, as much as I appreciate this, and really, I do, don't you think this is a little... tiny bit rushed? You haven't seen nearly all of my episodes yet, you're not so sure about my voice and you're really not sure where you're going with this which are all good indicators that maybe you'll need a little more research before you- oh. Well. Yes, I suppose you've had a few spoilers for a few really sad things. That's a bit discouraging, isn't it.

[Maybe? Just maybe and very secretly, the Doctor is a tiny little bit relieved that he can see it coming to an end. Because it doesn't unhappen, some things simply never do, and won't, and can't, but you can move on. You can be done.]

You'll see it. I know it's hard right now, but there are still a lot of splendid and fun things out there in the universe.

Not.for.me.... us. It always ends badly and we always have to make the worst of the choices. Choices that are never really choices to begin with.

A lot has happened since, and you should know just fine that exact words of incarnations ago take a bit to recall. Just... do us both a favour and not call them apes to my face, because that brings up some very bad, very personal memories.

[A beat, and he's calmed down. 'degenerate,' 'stunted apes,' 'used to hunt apes for sport'- it's been one too many times, that's really all.
