cykedfists: DO NOT STEAL (I'm so Cyked!)

Thinking about sending her to a game....

What do you mean you feel like you're annoying people? I don't think you are.

You are miss mun and you're fine!!

I think Apollo and Clay are onto something here. It does make me feel better, so I'm sure it'll make you feel better too!

Don't sweat the details! I'm sure you'll be okay! You just have to have faith in yourself. I think you're doing a great job. Even though you can be impulsive and mean sometimes, I wouldn't pick any other person to be my mun than you.

if you do send me somewhere though, could you at least send me to a place where I know some people. You know... like... Boss, Apollo, Junie, Simon.... somebody.

Stay cool, munie~ You'll make the right choice. Don't sweat it!

Taking the presence of castmates into account does constitute a detail, does it not?
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth glances over his shoulder disdainfully, teacup in hand. (Is that all?)

That does seem to be an extraordinarily common sentiment. Fortunately for you, your requirements are far easier to fulfill than my own.
truthsnomiracle: (Hmph)

The same as always -- I wish to pursue the truth. Unfortunately, that isn't particularly compatible with the vast majority of games. Truth tends to be an unassailable or even [shudder] mutable thing in most such places.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth points and occasionally waves his finger as he talks. (TL;DR)

[personal profile] truthsnomiracle 2014-02-22 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
That in itself would be difficult, as it is disturbingly rare for most moderators to have considered, and most players to care about, the pursuit of justice within the context of the setting. Punishment, when it is accounted for at all, commonly involves no more than a token week-long jail sentence or a non-permanent execution, as though most moderators have never conceived of any form of punishment aside from incarceration or execution and must write those off in order to enable continued participation in the game.

In some games punishment for offenses is immediately dispensed by the so-called "jamjar gods" instead. While these often entail a variety of curses such as temporary loss of powers or crucial memories, this approach also precludes any relevant involvement by those who wish to prove the truth behind a matter.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth grits his teeth and rubs his temple in irritation. (Why me?)

[personal profile] truthsnomiracle 2014-02-22 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I have attempted such a thing within the context of a game, but neither the moderators nor the players particularly seemed to care -- and when apathy is rampant on the opposite side of the fourth wall, any efforts made by ourselves will be futile. The fruits of my labors were nothing more than to inspire a handful of cheerleaders on our own side of it.

In a few games, a system of justice simply wouldn't fit the premise, but in others -- particularly those set in supposedly civilized regions -- I entirely agree that it ought to be given proper consideration. As things stand, however, I can see no other approach than to ensure that such matters are taken into consideration in the formative stages of games yet to be launched.
truthsnomiracle: Edgeworth stares into the storm with a brooding, grim expression. (Grim)

That presumes the existence of administrative middlemen who could be overthrown without enabling escape, as well as their superiors failing to retaliate in that situation. I've never known that to be the case.

[Mun why are you doing this to him again? Do you have some sort of sick obsession with forcing him to talk to those few people he'd much rather avoid? It's starting to seem that way.

Fine. Let's do this thing.]

You certainly have a lot of trust in a person who controls your life based on whims. Ha ha, well, maybe it's your support that will stop your mun from doing something that could backfire spectacularly!

[After being locked in a hotelroom with Shelly de Killer for two whole days, he's quite willing to accept the fact that muns are awful people. Even so, convincing this awful girl to change her ways (or at least go easy on him) is an option he continues to look into.]

I'm talking about games. They're not as fun as they sound. You may think your mun's not a bad person, but that could change rapidly depending on which game you're sent to.
spiritofjustice: (You were such a P.Y.T.)

[personal profile] spiritofjustice 2014-02-23 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Now now, what happened to those loud objections I kept hearing in the courtroom? It's like you didn't even try to stop your mun from committing such acts of injustice.

[If Athena was this willing to just lie down and accept her fate during the most recent trial, it would've made his life a lot easier, that's for sure. Compromise is the best and cheapest lawyer, or so they say.]
spiritofjustice: (Neither black nor white)

[personal profile] spiritofjustice 2014-02-23 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Far too trusting, Athena. Far too ignorant. Humans don't do well when they're given the power to control other people's lives. Bobby doesn't trust his own mun as far as he can throw her and she's already proven him right a dozen times over.]

If you say so... I can't do any more than give you a fair warning and wish you the best of luck, myself.

[It's not like the Phantom cares too much whether Athena gets a nice homey game or a violent survival game. He can't bring himself to hate her, because that would require far too much emotion. The Bobby Fulbright in him hopes she'll be okay, but he doubts she'll accept those hopes. They're just 'lies', after all.]

Sometimes. She tries to do nice things, but then she just messes it all up again by having me talk to assassins and signing me up for cruel events.

[Also, he's talking to Athena right now. That kind of proves his point.]
spiritofjustice: (Flashing all the lights)

[personal profile] spiritofjustice 2014-02-23 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Considering the position he's in right now- the position back home- he doubts 'muse death' is a preferable option. Going right back to where he belongs means going right back to face execution. It'd mean giving up the shreds of Bobby Fulbright he still has left, too. A choice between a life of occasional suffering and no life.]

... Nothing. In the end, we really can't do anything.
