[community profile] savetheearth on dubious echoes

Alright, I've had a lot of time on my hands.

And I still don't get the purpose of that damned outfit.

What's the functional benefit of a suit made of some kind of spandex and thigh-high boots? Who the hell makes that? Why would I wear it? Is there some kind of tactical advantage? Anything?

I can't think of a single use that wouldn't be better filled by something else.

So why would I have it?

Of the "functional benefit" and "tactical advantage" of that garment.

[He wasn't laughing. Just snickering. A mild chortle. A little teehee. Come on, Suzaku, you can take it.]

It's a flight suit, by the way.

[You know what they say about pride, Suzaku. Or maybe this one doesn't. For better or worse.

He raises an eyebrow.]

Try me. [The challenge is a light one. A confident one.

And that's his crossed arms tensing, don't call his aesthetic sense "ridiculous" Suzaku.]

Personally I find the embellishment fitting of the rank of the one who wore it. Besides, the outfit provides a number of practical advantages-- ease of movement, for one --aside from being a natural choice for someone who is most comfortable in the seat of a Knightmare frame.

Extra leg protection for spin-kicks.

[The comment is dropped so casually it's hard to tell if he's being serious or not.]
britannicide: (you can't be serious)

Assuming that the suit would only be worn while piloting. Don't be so obtuse.

[Well, considering you described it as a flight suit Lelouch...]

It also serves as a uniform, of sorts. [Slowly realizing how many hoops he'd have to jump through to try and get Suzaku to understand and that might be more trouble than he bargained for.] I designed it taking into account that it needed to suit a wide variety of situations and functions.

[Of course he'd be this hard-headed and stubborn about it, Lelouch really shouldn't be surprised.]
britannicide: (not quite sure what you're getting at)

[personal profile] britannicide 2014-01-21 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
[He blinks.]

Why...what?

[They've been discussing several things at once, he's going to need a less vague question to understand.]
britannicide: (this is my annoyed face)

[personal profile] britannicide 2014-01-21 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
[a momentary pause while giving Suzaku his best 'Are you an imbecile' face...]

...Didn't I just explain why? You would prefer it to be what exactly?

[Ignoring the "cartoon" comment for now because what is he even talking about.

The culture gap is settling in nicely.]
britannicide: (definitely not pouting)

[getting agitated]

It is incredibly practical for the function it serves! Just because you find no purpose for it in...whatever life you're living now does not take away from the garment's intrinsic practicality within the context it was intended to be used in...!

[Geez Lelouch, it's just a damn suit, let it go.]
britannicide: (no that's dumb stop it)

[personal profile] britannicide 2014-01-21 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
You expect me to be able to explain to you why you have it now?

[He's a self-proclaimed dark messiah, not omniscient gosh]
britannicide: (huffy)

[personal profile] britannicide 2014-01-21 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
[dryly]

It does apply to you. Just not you.

Perhaps try specifying the context of your queries next time.

[You were the one who assumed an interpretation Lelouch, don't get huffy.]
britannicide: (i'm annoyed)

[personal profile] britannicide 2014-01-21 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't. [He just assumed you'd be less different than you're turning out to be.

Or rather he thought he could be aloof and detached about his interactions with this guy considering what he knows of Suzaku's situation but that's clearly worked out oh so well.]

That was exactly my point.
