savetheearth on dubious echoes
Alright, I've had a lot of time on my hands.
And I still don't get the purpose of that damned outfit.
What's the functional benefit of a suit made of some kind of spandex and thigh-high boots? Who the hell makes that? Why would I wear it? Is there some kind of tactical advantage? Anything?
I can't think of a single use that wouldn't be better filled by something else.
So why would I have it?
[ooc: He's referring to this lovely getup]

[He wasn't laughing. Just snickering. A mild chortle. A little teehee. Come on, Suzaku, you can take it.]
It's a flight suit, by the way.

I doubt there could be a list for such a thing.
[Level of dubiousness only rises]
Why this and not something less [tries to think of a different word, gives up] ...ridiculous?
no subject
He raises an eyebrow.]
Try me. [The challenge is a light one. A confident one.
And that's his crossed arms tensing, don't call his aesthetic sense "ridiculous" Suzaku.]
Personally I find the embellishment fitting of the rank of the one who wore it. Besides, the outfit provides a number of practical advantages-- ease of movement, for one --aside from being a natural choice for someone who is most comfortable in the seat of a Knightmare frame.

From the guy who likes everything he wears simple and purposeful]
I wouldn't call those boots practical. And I question what kind of pilot finds use for a thing like that.
[He tried it on once, he doesn't see this]
no subject
[The comment is dropped so casually it's hard to tell if he's being serious or not.]
no subject
[This is making less and less sense to him]

[Well, considering you described it as a flight suit Lelouch...]
It also serves as a uniform, of sorts. [Slowly realizing how many hoops he'd have to jump through to try and get Suzaku to understand and that might be more trouble than he bargained for.] I designed it taking into account that it needed to suit a wide variety of situations and functions.
[Of course he'd be this hard-headed and stubborn about it, Lelouch really shouldn't be surprised.]
no subject
At least, not where he's concerned. However this isn't exactly the most pressing concern, rather...]
Of all the choices, why that?
[By which he means why is he the dark Power Ranger here]
no subject
Why...what?
[They've been discussing several things at once, he's going to need a less vague question to understand.]
no subject
[This is what he means by "that," apparently]
no subject
...Didn't I just explain why? You would prefer it to be what exactly?
[Ignoring the "cartoon" comment for now because what is he even talking about.
The culture gap is settling in nicely.]
no subject
Practical.
[Or at least cool but he's not about to admit that]
no subject
It is incredibly practical for the function it serves! Just because you find no purpose for it in...whatever life you're living now does not take away from the garment's intrinsic practicality within the context it was intended to be used in...!
[Geez Lelouch, it's just a damn suit, let it go.]
no subject
I don't see the point in my having it now. Not to mention it's too flamboyant for a guy like me.
no subject
[He's a self-proclaimed dark messiah, not omniscient gosh]
no subject
[He just feels the need to point this out]
no subject
It does apply to you. Just not you.
Perhaps try specifying the context of your queries next time.
[You were the one who assumed an interpretation Lelouch, don't get huffy.]
no subject
You want me to treat every one of you I come across like you're the exact same guy?
[Because as far as he's concerned they may be the same person but they're unique anyway]
no subject
Or rather he thought he could be aloof and detached about his interactions with this guy considering what he knows of Suzaku's situation but that's clearly worked out oh so well.]
That was exactly my point.
no subject
[A different sort of creature indeed]
