[ There's a kid just sitting on the ground, an unlit cigarette in his mouth. He doesn't look all that bothered by what's going on, more irritated than anything. ]

Don't give me that look; you're not my foster folks. The hero always get lip for smoking, but that's part of why he's so cool.

[ David, this isn't an action movie. ]

So what're you dragging me out here for? I mean, it's nice to have a break from all the training. They're a lot tougher on me in the Winter. [ He gives a bit of a smile. ] But I'm gonna kick ass once I'm in the military; I'll be the best soldier ever. You'll see.

[ Yeah, about that... ]

Hey, I can have anything I want in this place, right? [ I never said that. ] Can you get me a new walkman?

Well, a cooler name would be John. Y'know, like Rambo in First Blood.

Yeah, neither was I, but if I could choose a cool name, y'know who I'd wanna be named after?

... You don't know who Snake Plissken is? He's the main character in Escape from New York! He's, like, the coolest guy ever!

Can't say I ever saw the movie.

[ And that was the day Raiden learned Snake was a huge nerd. ]

Oh man, you should totally watch it. I don't have a VCR, but if you find someone who does, you need to rent it! It's the best! I also like The Terminator. That's a scary one, but it's also really cool.

I've seen Terminator at least. It was pretty cool. I'll have to watch Escape from New York though.
