And here I was under the impression this was little more than a spur-of-the-moment sort of thing.

Oh-- not at all, of course, I don't mind being brought back out here. Actually, I am quite grateful. I do enjoy the opportunity to meet others, now that everything's all over. I wouldn't have the chance to otherwise.

Come now, miss writer. It was sad, yes, but Joey made it home in the end. I'm sure he's happy with his master. And he certainly deserves it, after all he'd been through.

[ Claude nickers and smoothes back his front leg's hoof in the dirt. Emilie leans against Claude's warm, black body and makes a very much put out expression on her face. She's holding an apple in one hand, which Claude has definitely noticed.

Emilie speaks: ]

You are being very lazy. [ Ah, she's talking to the Mundane. ] Why can we not visit the horses? You have the permission, and you have the time. It will not hurt your busy schedule to make a small visit. I would like to see the horses, Mundane, if that is possible.

[ Claude swishes his tail and snorts. ]

Claude agrees with me.

I do not mind...my illness. [ yes...yes she does. ] You...say that you can bring me my horses? My...Joey and...Tophorn? But I thought...no. No. If that is their true names, then I shall call them as so. Joey and Tophorn. I would like to see them once more. I also wish to meet Joey's Albert. And perhaps...the Captain Nicholas?

You say that you will take me on adventures and exciting journeys. Do you promise me this?

Good. Then let us go on.

Oh, now I do think we are getting carried away.

It isn't that I'm not flattered you've brought me here to join the rest of your ... colourful little bunch, here. I just don't think you've thought this through well enough. Or at all, really.

But we may be able to make this work. Somehow. I'm not sure what it is you have planned for me, but I must admit, this place is quite fascinating.

... and please, miss, do not despair. None of us were expecting it. And we still accomplished a great deal. I am proud to have done my part, for my country.

I hear that Joey found his way home, as well. For some reason, I knew he would. It all worked out in the end, didn't it?
