[ Claude nickers and smoothes back his front leg's hoof in the dirt. Emilie leans against Claude's warm, black body and makes a very much put out expression on her face. She's holding an apple in one hand, which Claude has definitely noticed.

Emilie speaks: ]

You are being very lazy. [ Ah, she's talking to the Mundane. ] Why can we not visit the horses? You have the permission, and you have the time. It will not hurt your busy schedule to make a small visit. I would like to see the horses, Mundane, if that is possible.

[ Claude swishes his tail and snorts. ]

Claude agrees with me.

Is he yours, little girl? He seems like a strong, fine beast.

[ Emilie smiles. ]

Yes. His name is Claude. [ She turns her head to her horse, taking his reigns and giving a soft tug. ] Say "bonjour", Claude. [ Claude only snorts. ] Very stubborn boy.

[He smiles back.]

It's quite all right. [Koark holds out his hand.] Hi, Claude. How are you doing, boy?

[ Claude canters forwards a bit, then dips his head and sniffs the man's hand. He snorts. ]

That is Claude's way of being noncommittal.

A hard one to win over, aren't you? You're more likely to warm up to an apple than a man, I reckon.

[He looks to the girl.]
