But, I do not think it is a bad difference. Even in such a different world, Arthur and Merlin are yet themselves. Almost destiny, that.

I really don't find all this talk about the world ending tonight amusing at all.

lightbranded Well. I can't say I can be too surprised that such a story has brought me to mind once more. Matters of the battle between Light and Dark must by their very nature be a weighty matter in any world. And it seems to me that the Dark in that world lies very deep indeed.
But you must remember that it is all a part of the pattern. And the darker the pattern grows, the brighter the few threads of Light will shine.

But you are forgetting, I think. Even if Merriman was willing to come, he could not. He has other duties now. All the others would remember me as nothing more than a strange boy they once met during the holidays. Even Bran. [He pronounces the name in sadness.]

But I will be powerless there, almost. I do not know how much use I will be in that place. It is true that an Old One can never become anything greater or less than what they are. Only be limited for a time. I know that my duties will remain the same. But I do not know how I will complete them in a world where I would be able to use one gift, only.
I wish I could speak to Merriman about this.

this is not the time to take me away from the world that is my home. You may do so after the battle is won or lost, for better or worse. This friend of yours taking Will out of there only enlarges the predicament in which the Light will find itself.
