[Probably the most apt description you can come up with. She doesn't look amused]

[Alec gives Abby a worried look, his glamour slipping so that she'll see the black 'tattoos' that cover most of his body.]

Mundanes... [Pausing, he realizes that term has two meanings here.] Humans don't usually deal with demons.

[Her eyebrows go up to her hairline at the tattoos suddenly appearing. All right, proceeding with caution.]

Usually being a key word there.

[The reaction causes him to wince mentally. He really doesn't want to be arrested or shot at because he isn't what mundanes consider normal.]

Is there someone helping you with them? Usually it takes special weapons or magic to send demons back to hell.

[Her hand's by her gun but hasn't pulled it out yet.]

Crane. And his kind of dead witch wife.

[Shadowhunters are fast but they really aren't made for dodging bullets.]

Kind of dead... I probably shouldn't ask. [Hopefully kind of dead witches are better than the 'kind of dead' people he runs into.]

My name is Alec. I'm a Shadowhunter. Where I'm from people without magic usually don't fight demons.

[He doesn't technically have magic but it's the quickest explanation that might keep the Lieutenant from shooting him.]

I'm surprised that there aren't others trying to help you.

[For someone who was an FBI candidate? Might be wanna be careful.]

A Shadowhunter. And what's a Shadowhunter supposed to do?

We protect the world from demons. We were given angelic gifts to make us stronger and faster than mundanes. Normal humans. If there are Shadowhunters in your world, then they should be helping you stop whatever demon you're hunting.
