Finishing my Master's. Hoping to start my Doctorate next year.

There are only about five-thousand decisions you made during your career that I could point out were probably too risky. I'm not sure how you survived to thirty, honestly.

Technically I still haven't, but I appreciate the compliment all the same.

Well, I wouldn't give him all the credit.

I've got a CMO who loves to tell me when I'm wrong, as well a whole team who think they know better than me. If you've got a good team, you'll get through anything.

I'd think I'd remember a mystery man in Mum's life. I practically grew up in her lab.

You can call her Carol, you know. [ a snort of laughter. ] I do know Mum's name. [ the smile widens into a slightly sheepish grin. ] .. I may have caused a few minor disasters in my time.

[It's much easier to think of her as 'this kid's mom' rather than 'Carol Marcus that hot scientist'

Pretty sure every scientist ever would disagree with you on that point. [ a pause. ] .. It was satisfying, though. Which it really ought to be, even if it's often frustrating, exhausting, and disappointing, too. I think Mum forgets the first bit sometimes.
