Then we need to play together. I bet you haven't had any real competition without me, huh?

Well, actually, Lelouch-san created it through a process called Bending. It's willing something into existence, pretty much. And money doesn't really matter there, but yes, Lelouch-san has a nice mansion.

[He gives Daisuke a competitive grin.]

Well, there was this one hedgehog I was playing against...

A...how did you play soccer against a hedgehog? Aren't they tiny with those spiky things on them?

Oh, no, he was blue and probably about 3 feet tall. And really really fast.

[Daisuke clears his throat and puts his hands on his hips.]

I bet I could beat him!

(Taichi can't help but grin a bit at seeing his determination, unwavering much like his own.)

I'm sure you aren't that rusty from being trapped in your mun's headspace for...how long was it?

[Daisuke grin grows. If Taichi is here then everything is automatically better.]

No way I'm that rusty! It's been...uh...

[Daisuke starts counting on his fingers.] Uh...over a year?

(Taichi laughs, not at the fact that Daisuke's been shelved for that long but that he could count that high.)

Better with just one year than many.

(A beat, then he relaxes.) Just remember to keep your guard up when you face an opposing team.

I will. I remember what you taught me. And if my mun sends me to the game he has in mind, Ichijouji Ken will be there too.

(Taichi remembers those early days very well. Still, he wore the goggles back then too.)

Ichijouji's gonna be there too? Nice to know you'll have your Jogress partner to watch your back if it can't be V-mon.

Yeah. V-mon can't come with me I guess. Something about rules.

[Daisuke sighs. He's going to miss V-mon.] But Ichijouji hasn't had Wormmon for seven months. So if he can deal, so can I.

(Taichi's experienced losing Agumon a few times between '99-'02 so he knows how it feels.) You'll be fine, Daisuke. V-mon will always be with you, even if he can't be by your side. Same goes for Ichijouji and Wormmon.

Those seem to be a lot of requests, Daisuke-kun.

It isn't that many. And I deserve them. I've been locked up in here for a year.

[He blinks and thinks for a while.] I haven't been in one of these worlds they call "games" for quite some time now, too. I don't think it's been over a year, though.

I was almost going to go to a game then it closed. So mun moved on to other people. But not this time. This time I'm getting into a game. What about you Takeru? You going to go to any games anytime soon?

As for me, well... [A lopsided smile.] Mun-san doesn't have concrete plans. She does admit missing writing for me, but with her work schedule and all, I don't want to push her if she can't possibly find time.
