I do not either. Besides encouraging him to the best of my ability and offering him moral support, he has made it abundantly clear that too much of my attempts to help him will not be appreciated.

I have never had to deal with anything like it before.

Sometimes people don't want help even when they really need it. It's ... complicated. And weird.

[It's hard to tell what would help Jaune rather than just push him away. All Ren knows for sure is that he needs to learn that help doesn't mean you're weak.]

Meaning, if Cardin ever shows up, we can all take turns breaking his legs with no repercussions.

As promising as that sounds, I don't think any of us besides Jaune should do anything to Cardin. He wants to fight his own battles so...

I understand- but we really should respect Jaune's wishes, no matter how difficult it may be for us.

[She hesitates for a moment, and then-]

[Said with perhaps a little more force than necessary. She looks immediately contrite, but shakes her head.]

You are not... not a 'cause', Jaune. But if you need help, shouldn't your teammates be able to support you in at least that much? We cannot fight your battles for you unless you let us, however...

However if you would let us- let me- you can at least be prepared to fight them yourself.

If I let you all..If I let you continue to help me, nothing will change. I don't want to be the guy that always has to be bailed out by people. Why should I even go to Beacon if that's going to be the case? [He doesn't want to be a cause, a liability, the weak guy. He wants to be the person, the leader that others can rely on.]

[prostasia]

But Jaune- if you won't let us help you now, how can you expect us to believe you will let us help you in the future?

I know you don't want to be seen as weak, but... it isn't weak to need help, Jaune. It is a greater weakness to be unable to allow others to help you.

[jauneofarc]

[He can't promise that, really. Not with how he is feeling right now.] You just have to trust that I will.

And that's easy for you to say, Pyrrha. You are strong and accomplished. No one will ever think otherwise of you. No one will ever think that Nora and Ren are weak either.

If I can get stronger, actually do something on my own without needing someones help, then maybe I might start to feel like I deserve to go to Beacon.

I do trust you, Jaune. If I didn't, we wouldn't be teammates.

[She frowns slightly then, pressing her lips together like she wants to say something, but doesn't. Instead she just nods and lets out a quiet sigh.]

In the end, it's up to you what you choose to do. But... please do not think I offered to help you because I think you are weak or lacking in any way, Jaune. I offered to help because I honestly believe you are capable of so much- and I want everyone else, especially Cardin, to see it too.

[He wished that he knew what it was that Pyrrha saw in him that made her think he had such potential.]

I hope that you are right. [He opens his mouth like he wants to say something, maybe thank her for believing in him and trying to help, but he can't really find the words.]

I know I am.

[She hesitates for a moment, and then reaches for his hand, smiling.]

You'll see it too, eventually.

[He doesn't jerk away from her this time around, he just lets her take her hand. But he kind of averts his gaze off to the side a little.]

[She squeezes his hand.]

[He gave a little nod and squeezed her hand back a little.]

I don't think I've been the greatest one to you, though.

Besides, I do not think I would be the sort of person I am if I let something keep me down for very long.
