There is now a Dead God on Dear Mun. What do. (Canon is Eternal Darkness)
Well, isn't this exciting! Finally out of that dusty old temple, for the first time in a few millennia! Though I do think this flesh and blood form is quite unnecessary, I suppose if I am to speak with them openly it wouldn't do to frighten them off by appearance alone. Ah, silly flesh and bloods, and yet how dear they are to me... Perfect little tools that mill about despite the odds against them, really. That they manage to survive and thrive is quite amazing, I do so enjoy watching them...
Ah, I'm going off on a tangent, aren't I? Yes, yes, I wanted to speak to you--it's been ever so long since I've been able to speak to anyone, you see. But, yes, what I wanted to speak about... Ah, right! This "cosmic babysitter" thing you keep giddily giggling about. I will admit the Three were acting quite like children, but I highly doubt a babysitter would aim to have the children under their care destroyed, hm?

You are a beautiful person
F-ffff
Now I want to make an Eternal darkness muse xD
I find it kind of odd I'm the only one out of our kind who hasn't taken on a human form around here. I'm just significantly shorter.
Yesgood.
[Mantorok is so used to being huge that he didn't notice oops.]

[He is going to be quite gleeful!]
The last thing that's needed is for those Three to be running around unsupervised. Ah, but what of the Fifth...? Pargon is one I wouldn't mind being unleashed.

[Mantorok is pleased to see you.]
I must thank you. Without your efforts and insatiable thirst for knowledge, I would not have been able to eliminate all three of them. You and your granddaughter are owed much.
[...Congrats, you just got Mantorok to talk seriously.]
...I do apologize for the loss of your life, tho. It was, however, necessary to bring Alex into the fold.

I had done my part, though I would have rather preferred that duty to have ended with me. The workings of the Ancients may be beyond mortal understanding, but I knew I'd stepped too far... it was only a matter of time. Alex's involvement was bittersweet, but an eventuality I had to plan for. At least now reality as we know it can know peace without involvement of the Three.
[Though still not trusting you thar, Mantorok]

Truly. And soon, even I will fade completely from the world. I had to prepare for the same eventuality as you. Although, it's quite different--Alex can't destroy entire worlds and enslave the flesh and blood.
[Hahaha, never saying "human" outright, isn't that just like them...]
It was a brilliant plan on their parts. Take me out and the balance shifts... A shame they didn't realize I'd have my ways of still influencing the world beyond that temple. Perhaps they were too shortsighted in their lust for freedom and power...

[A play that the Ancients had suspected, if the interactions between Lindsey and Elia recorded in the Tome were correct. Suspected, but not followed upon as their all-seeing gazes settled on the conjunction that would herald the coming of the Ancients into the mortal sphere. How the Dead God managed to get his heart into the hands of the one who would use it... a chain forged of flesh and blood indeed, carved into the hide of the tome that bound each link.]
The trapped are usually the most cunning. Their oversight lead to your success. Once they could not get information about your Heart from the dancer girl they simply left her.
