[Enjolras. Circa 1820]
My dear Madame,
While I am perfectly content that you have somehow found it within your power to remove me from the vile indoctrination grounds some call a school, and far away from the control of my parents, what, if anything, makes you suspect that you hold sway over anything I do?
Do you possess some knowledge I am lacking, or some power you seek to exercise over me, because I can assure you here and now that you will never win through such a means. If we do anything, we shall do it by mutual leave, meaning that I must be agreed on all the points as much as you.
If you do not seek to play things by that tune, then you and I are both in for one very memorable, very long experience. I do not cede control easily, and then, and only then to powers I've found worthy or admirable.
You, of course, are nothing of the sort.
Do you wish me to work with you?
Then rise to the occasion and prove yourself worthy of my time and efforts. Otherwise, I do have work to do.

Ah, thank you, I suppose.
[have a very bewildered look there, Gilderoy, whilst the mun dies laughing.]

Will you be my very best friend? [ Gasp! Gilderoy never wanted to be anyone's friend this badly. ]

I...due to my hair alone? [Enjolras is so very confused right now by these proceedings. Not that he has very many friends, or any of them yet, so it is..tempting to make one just like that. But he cannot entirely trust people yet, so...] Perhaps you should come to know me a bit better first before deciding on such things?

Do I really have to? Can't we say we'll be best friends and then get to know eachother?
Did I already tell you that I'm famous? I've been in the papers once; 'Hogwarts student recieves 34 Valentine's Day cards'!

[In a few years time, Enjolras will meet another young man, who comes off a bit like Gilderoy does, and take the time to look past how Courfeyrac comes off at first, but for the moment? He is simply going to blink, and then blink again, a little harder.]
Well, it seems to me that friendships must be based on some level of established intimacy, oughtn't they? And we do not have such a thing yet, though if you would like we might spend time together and see if we could.
[He's cautious about most people, Gilderoy, try not to take this totally the wrong way. He doesn't actually HAVE friends as such, so he should be probably jumping at the chance, but the idea of friends is something that makes him a bit nervous from time to time. Famous though? That gets a blink. And Valentines...he's familiar enough with the concept, since they've lately come to France, though they are not as common as all that, and not at their ages, surely. It gets Enjolras raising an eyebrow.]
Thirty four of them? You must be rather popular.
