I appreciate that you feel this will bring me closer to my children and their friends. In many ways, I'm sure you're right, but I worry that neither of us have thought this through thoroughly. You don't have the time, you've admitted that before, and...

[A sigh.]

A glimpse into my children's lives would be nice, I will admit that; however, they are and have always been very independent, willful individuals. If having me around means any determent to that growth, then I think I'd rather remain behind. I've made my mark, and now they deserve a chance to do the same.

Please, take some time to consider how this would not only affect the both of us, but also those we hold close.

[He really isn't sure what to say, which is amusing since Hakoda's been thinking about what he'd say if he ever got the chance. Suddenly, here's the chance and he's at a loss for words.]

I've always thought you would be watching over us. [And there's a long pause while he reels in his feelings. The rest comes out with a bit of a shuddering breath.] We've missed you here -- both the children and myself. It's... hard to live a half-life.

[Yeah she knows. She didn't want to leave any of them, but she had to.]

I'm so sorry I had to leave you like I did, but I had to. [She won't say it, but she had to protect Katara, and he knows that.]

[warriorchief]

Make no apologies, Kya -- I knew your fate was elsewhere. [He's just... so happy to see you. That's all the matters at the moment.] I only wish I could have said goodbye.

How about we start off with "hello" first? [She just got here, don't say goodbye yet.]

I think I can do that. [He's almost sheepish around her. This is his one true love, after all, and while he's a pretty tough warrior, she always gets him right in the heart.] Hello.

Hello. [And her hello's come with a hug.]

[Talk about bittersweet bliss. Hakoda's holding on because he doesn't know when he'll ever see Kya again.]

Are you here with the children?

[wifeofhakoda]

I don't believe so. I just spend my time in my mun's headspace. But I am sure they are happy to see you.

[warriorchief]

As I was to see them. And you. [He'll take her hand and lead her to sit on a nearby bench.] I'm afraid I won't get out much, so I'm glad for this time we can share.

It's alright. I am barely out as well. But I'm glad I got this chance. [Have a kiss on the cheek.]

This is true. I think I can live with seeing you more often. It would certainly make being here easier.

Much easier. It fills my heart with strength to see you so young and so vital, Kya. I would make us stay here together if it would mean we'd forever be this way.

And you look so much older, but still as handsome as I remember. [She's trying to tease him.] But we kinda have forever here, don't we?

I guess we do. [He touches her cheek, a cheeky smile on his face.] Can you stand me to be so much older, or would you rather see me young again?

Actually, I think you look rather handsome.

You always did have a good eye for that sort of thing. [And now we see where Sokka gets it from. XD ]
