My only real question is about how nothing falls off. If the world is indeed round like a ball rather than a disk, then it simply makes no sense.

It is as you say. It's just not possible. [Maybe with Psynergy it might be, but how much Psynergy would be necessary to keep people on a curved surface from falling...]

It would require a monumental amount of energy to do such a thing, and to allow them to move freely while staying on the planet's surface.
