[Ivan immediately flinches in surprises and bounces backwards, lightly landing on the balls of his feet.] Isaac?
[Ivan blinks owlishly, then leans forward, squinting at Isaac's face.] Since when did you get so old? And... [His brow creases in confusion.] And where did the beard come from?
[He nods. Ivan always was one of his more intelligent friends.] You got it.
It's been a long time since our journey's end. [Oh, Ivan, you wound him. He is hardly old. At least, he doesn't have gray hair and wrinkles as their dear friend Kraden does. He smiles though, because the way the mind readers say exactly what is on their minds is refreshing.]
Jenna thought it might be a good idea for me to grow it out. She wasn't too fond of it when I finished, but I like it a lot.
[Isaac, Ivan's still fifteen. You count as old to him.] Oh, so you come from a different time. I've met some people like that here. [Still, he never expected an Isaac with a beard.
He cocks his head, frowning critically.] It suites your face. [He will tentatively put himself in the 'fan of beard' camp. He crosses his arms and frowns curiously.] What happened after we brought the people of Vale to Vault?
[Get off my lawn, whippersnapper.] I've seen more of you that are from my past than I have that are from my present. This is a strange place, isn't it?
[He smiles. Yes, he is very glad to hear that there's someone here who isn't appalled by his beard.] Thanks. I bet a beard would suit you, too. If you wanted to grow one.
[He becomes a touch more serious while answering Ivan's question.] The world has changed in many ways. Some of the refugees stayed in Vault. A pretty good number of them went to Kalay. And there are some that are living in a settlement close to where Vale used to be.

[Oh, Ivan. Still learning things like manners.]
