Extra icons are a good thing to have. Just like you said, it's difficult to really get the picture across with only fifteen expressions. Only boring people would get by with fifteen.

[A sort of succinct way of explaining that people with multiple dimensions to their lives have a need for a wider range of expression. Simpler people can get by with less, as there is essentially less to their personality as a whole. In other words, they're boring.]
