Canon is - The White Princess by Philippa Gregory. Voice Test!

I have lost my King, my lover and the only man I have ever wished to give children. I am now forced to bed a man who feels nothing for me every night. He will not even marry me until I carry his child.

Becoming a Queen is not an honorable chore. I should rather stay a Princess of York.

Yet you desire to ask more of me? Why?

My daughter, you know there is nothing more honorable than becoming the Queen of England...though I know it is not something you ever wanted for yourself even as a child. All you knew then was war and life in sanctuary and now isn't much different.

But you are a Daughter of the River, like myself, like my mother and we will get through this together.

And I did not think I would see you, I have been alone here for quite some time now. (And she'll give her daughter a smile) It is good to see you again. If I had any choice in that matter we would not have been near that place but safe in our own beds each night...but there is nothing that can be done about the past now.

Of course I do, I am sure of it.
