I always hearing people saying you've got to find ways to occupy yourself, but when it comes down to it? It's really not that easy. There are only so many nautical-based puns that I can think of, repeat and continue to find amusing for so long. Have you ever contemplated your own sanity before based off of how many daily phrases you can turn into something with an oceanic theme? It's not a pretty picture. It's like people you catch talking to themselves and quietly in the back of your mind you really, truly consider if they've lost it. Then you catch yourself doing it and instantly you've created a vicious circle of self-doubt. If you have not realised, uneasiness, a lack of space and no way to express this deep and burning desire to release these phrases into the worlds does not meld well with my psyche.

I want you to imagine a fish tank without one of those little plastic castles. Is that how you like to treat your fish, mun? Because I know someone who could tell you that they would be upset with you. I'm no fish but if you're not catching what I'm throwing here then you need to revaluate.

Oh and if you're curious, my favourite one is you're just baiting me now, because seriously. That's what you're doing. So quit floundering.

Sometimes I feel like those Titans have ruined you. [But he's smirking in amusement despite himself, and there's no barb to his comments. It's just... good to see Garth again.]

[The smirk is returned cheekily.] No.

You just lack my superior sense of humour.

Really? I'd say when it comes to making jokes you're a little out of your depth. [You are the worst influence on him, son.]

[Oh, he could play this game forever.] I'm going to have to start taking what you say in tide.

I suppose there's nothing else to do when you're all washed up. [Okay he can't keep this up for long, he's not the quipster out of them. He'll just be going in to sweep him up into a tight hug.] It's good to see you, Minnow.

[quipster]

[The hug catches him a little off guard but he is not one to deny the affection from a guy who is pretty much a father to him. There is a small laugh as he squeezes the other back.] Now that's not fair. You cut me off with something like that so you get the last in.

[A pause.] It's been too long.

[relentlesstide]

[Arthur just thumps him on the back lightly, a grin touching at the corners of his mouth.] Have I ever played fair?

It's been much too long.

[quipster]

[Pulling away he chuckles and gives a small roll of his eyes.] You don't want me to answer that question.

How have you and Mera been holding up?

[relentlesstide]

[He leaves one hand on Garth's shoulder, a reassuring point of contact.] Well enough, all things considered. Unsurprisingly, living on the back of a giant turtle isn't so bad most of the time.

[quipster]

[He's fine with that, it's a support system that he has missed.] Well, if it's primarily in the water and holds a good conversation what else could you ask for.

[relentlesstide]

[He laughs at that, shaking his head slightly.] There, at least you get it.

...We do miss you though.

[quipster]

[His smiles fades just slightly but still, he gives the other a nudge with his elbow.] Come on now.

Don't get all sentimental on me. I remember the last time you grew a bread, let's not relive that.

I looked good in that beard. Mera said she liked it. [He thumps him on the back again, Arthur's way of showing affection.] And I'm allowed to miss my son. [All of them, really.]
