It's difficult to say which fate is merciful. Roaming our empty, destroyed worlds for an indefinite period of time or facing the Tower with the administrators controlling every aspect of our existences— I'm certain few are happy to have only these options to choose between.

For my part, I wish you hadn't sent us home. I understand why you did and I know it was probably for the best, but I... I didn't want to leave everyone. It's not because you've doomed me to be trapped alone on a dead planet, but because I cannot help my friends from here. I can't protect them...

...and I will likely never see them again.

I'm sorry; I am grateful that you allowed me to give the Crystal to Kariya, since you could not let Saber part with Avalon. Lancelot truly cares for him. I know Lancer and Diarmuid will take care of Kain for me, if they can. Diarmuid will care for Yotsuba and Ryoji, too. I know he will. Tohko is strong— so much more than she seems. I am confident she will continue to take care of herself and anyone else she can.

I suppose... that if anyone had to face permanent death sooner because of Ruana's actions, Amelia, Saber, and I agree it is best that it be us.

I only wish it didn't have to be this way at all for anyone.

I know it was your Mundane's decision, but it is sad that you're waiting for us to succeed in your own universe..but I'll keep doing my best to help everyone out so that we can restore the universes.

And so that you don't get eaten..it would be really terrible if that happened. By the way..she's not coming out, but..my Mundane doesn't think Yotsuba will be depressed or neglected in the Tower. She's pretty hardy too.

To the side of the sketch is the message 'Wish You Were Here' with an arrow pointing suspiciously close to where the whale hit the tower.]

[ Oh, Kain... It was one of the hardest things she's been forced to do to leave him behind. Cecil takes his hand. ]

[He sighs and squeezes her hand lightly.]

Do you really believe that is what I meant? Even if you needed to be, I know all too well that no one I knew has the time to dote on you like that.

[ As for his assertion that she didn't fail him... well, Cecil keeps her continued disagreement to herself. She will never forget how their meeting during Jason's experiment ended and now having to leave him behind in that place is hard to do. She rests her forehead against his shoulder. ]

[ It's difficult for Cecil to say this-- not because she does so begrudgingly, but rather, because she still doesn't know Lancelot well and that makes it a little harder for her to be honest about her feelings. ]

...I'm sorry I judged you and Kariya so harshly. I don't think I ever said that, but I know it was wrong of me. And unfair. I apologize.

[ The King of Knights knows what Archer is implying, of course, but rather than rising to the bait, he adopts a contemplative expression and begins examining the crude drawing closely. ]

...Does the arrow represent you, Archer? If you're being hit by giant whales again, I prefer to be with Ayaka on the planet.

We may be separated where the Tower is concerned, but I assure you that we need not be apart in every realm. Cecil and I both would enjoy continuing to see you outside of it.

[He laughs and smiles at how she trails off, leaning in to enjoy her expression.]

Well, it should be! Plus, I'm not the only one working to beat the Administrators, so we should be fine..even if it would be nice if you were back with us.

But I think they can be. After all, Dax was working towards that goal, and he wouldn't work towards something unless it could be achieved. I'm not sure about the people that lived in those universes..but that might be possible too.

[ Quickest way to make a paladin-queen feel like a child? Mess with her nose.

Cecil pulls her head back quickly out of Archer's reach and covers her face with a hand. She doesn't laugh— too flustered to find humor in the situation right now— but she's blushing. Still, she retaliates by giving his earlobe a light tug. ]

Don't worry too much about us, Cecil-san. We'll be alright.

[Ryoji can only hope he sounds convincing and that Cecil never caught wind of his recent death. He loves his perfect timing.]

But please, take care of yourself. Everyone's trying to save the old worlds, but you could be in serious danger until we succeed.

Hoh? [Archer clearly wasn't expecting retaliation, but he regards Cecil with pleasant surprise. He laughs and reaches up to poke her on the forehead.]

[ She's a little pleased herself she obviously caught him off guard, so she smiles when he laughs and because she was expecting him to retaliate, she quickly brings up a hand to block his poking finger when he moves to do it. ]
