voice testing a ghost boy (canon is Mad Father)
Didn't anyone ever teach you that it's dangerous to disturb the spirits of the dead? For your sake, I hope you know what you're doing.
[He pauses, his tone dropping to something more melancholy.]
Okay, just hear me out: I've already done my job and the curse has been broken. Now? The truth is...all I want to do is rest. Haven't I at least earned that much?
((Guess who's been watching too much Markiplier lately.))

[At this point, would he even still be called a ghost? Or would he be a zombie or just undead?]

please excuse my lack of icons atm uvu
He's dead now, though. I made sure of that. [A pause.] And then I burned his house down.
[You know, just to be extra thorough.]
no subject
[Excuse him, that's really the only thing he's able to come up with right now.]
no subject
[Come on. Don't try to make it sound like you don't appreciate a job well done.]
Besides, I was asked to do it by the one who summoned me. I couldn't exactly refuse, even if I had wanted to.
[Which, naturally, he hadn't. Wouldn't you be feeling a bit vengeful, too, if some crazy doctor had chopped you up for spare parts after locking you up in his dungeon for who knows how long? Taking him down had been quite liberating, if he was being honest.]
no subject
[...no one wants to be told that by you of all people, Dio.]
And if you're doing it 'cause someone told you to that's even worse. "But he said I had to do it!" isn't going to hold up in court.

[Supposed being the key word, here.]
One second I'm surrounded by flames and the next...well, I'm here. [As un-dead as he probably could be. It was more bitter than sweet.]
no subject
Well isn't that lucky for you. Most people would kill to be able to get a second chance at life or some shit, and here you are taking it for granted.
no subject
[He frowns as he tries to figure out how to explain this to someone who clearly doesn't believe a word he says.]
I'm not saying that I don't want to be alive...I do. But right now, I'm not alive--just stuck somewhere in the middle.
[And, to make matters worse...]
Have you ever had any sort of purpose in life? One thing that you were meant to do above all else, at all costs?
no subject
The next words give him some pause, though, and he actually stops to consider it before nodding gravely. He has a purpose - a duty - and that's not something he can be cavalier about.]
Yeah. That's why I'm going to keep on living until I fulfill that purpose.

a lot.
youll be ok.
((hello mun of awesomeness *goes back to watching part 9 of Mad Father series*))

[Was that even possible? Or was he just another cursed soul?]
(( *U* I watched it yesterday and I've been thinking about this ever since aaahhh. Man, I want to see the other endings, now.))

[Poor kid. He honestly felt pretty bad for the ones that only died once and didn't have any option to come back.]
((I moved recently so I had to lay off the youtubage for a while. I'm catching up now.))

[He winces with his one eye. It had been bad enough being cut apart while still awake to watch it--just one time. Dying again and again just to come back and have to face it all over? It didn't sound like his ideal living scenario.]
...but don't worry, I did. I'd been watching over someone--to make sure she didn't get hurt.
[He had supposed to guide her out of harm's way from the very beginning, but that hadn't exactly gone as planned. It was frustrating to know that once he had completed his task he had wound up in this place instead of being put to rest.
How long was he expected to keep this up for? And what, exactly, could he be expected to find meaningful? He didn't even really know where he was.]
But if she's not here, too, then...I guess I'll have to find something else.
[The idea makes him look a bit put-out.]

...you're right. Thank you.
[And as far as he could tell, he had an infinite amount of time to find it.]
I'll keep looking.

[His eye turns downward.] And even if I was the one cursed...it can't change the fact that, in the end, I'm already dead.
[If the curse was broken, he simply went back to being dead. It wasn't ideal, but the only alternative was being stuck where he didn't belong.]

[He didn't want to have died. Not so young and so brutally--but if he hadn't been one of the souls brought back, Aya never would have been saved. At least not as far as he could imagine.]

[He looks a bit skeptical, but can you blame him? As he had said, everything had gotten extremely out of hand. The idea that someone could do so much, seemingly with fairly little trouble, seemed sort of like a miracle.
Underneath the skepticism, though, it something else. Hope for what might have been. For a salvation he's been long since denied.]
Can I ask...what kind of organization are you part of, exactly?
no subject
[Admittedly he wasn't entirely sure what would happen to this kid's body if he tried to exorcise him.]
The organization is called The Special Talent Project. We act as an organization that investigates paranormal happenings and stops them from hurting people. We're trained for dealing with dangerous situations as well as in rites such as exorcisms.
It's a little blunt, but we could of forced the source of your curse to pass on into the next life.

[Although he didn't want to have been brought back from the dead in such a manner...that man deserved to die. Both for the things he had done as well as for the things he had been planning to do. To his own daughter, in particular.
His shoulders slump.]
In the end, it doesn't matter. What's done is done and I have no time or use left for my regrets. [Again, he pauses. This time he sighs as well.] But sometimes I can't help but wish his crimes had been put to a stop long before any of that had ever happened.
[Before the doctor had killed his wife. Before he had "rescured" Maria. Before...before...
Without even realizing it, the boy gingerly brings a hand up to touch the gaping wound left across his face.]
no subject
[No way a girl could entirely handle something like that after all.
He looked at the boy with some concern.]
Would you like some help tending to that?
no subject
Thank you, but it's fine. It's not like it's going to heal, anyway.
[His reanimated husk had no ability left to change.]
no subject
[He really didn't like that look of complacency. A child shouldn't have to have that.]
It seems like you're going to be here for the time being so perhaps you should take it as an opportunity to try to live your life a bit like you would of wanted to?
It's far from a perfect scenario, but at the very least something good could come of the situation.
The Horror Game pal train never ends!
Being gone forever? Dying entirely?
KEEP 'EM COMIN' 8D
I think it's time for me to move on.
[Past time, actually. He'd rather go peacefully than continue to be a haunt--a sick shell of what he was when he was alive.]
no subject
I know what it can feel like... just wanting something to end. Something that just feels like it'll keep going forever.
no subject
[He turns his eye to the ground sadly.]
Anyone who can understand how it feels to long for the end of an existence must be going through something unbearable. I sincerely hope that this isn't the case for you. [Or, if it was, and he was sure it must have been--] Or, at the very least, that you find peace, as well.
[Hopefully peace in life as opposed to death. He wouldn't wish death on any child.]

I had to go through something terrible for a very, very long time. But whenever things would start to look up, I'd latch onto it and make the most of it. It almost never amounted to anything...
... But the times it did added up eventually.
oh... hello......... (forgive me if I'm totally fucking up, I haven't played in a while.)
It's you...
/reaches toward...! O:
[He looks startled. He can't help himself; the blonde youth hadn't been expecting to see her again. He's not quite sure whether or not he should be relieved, this new environment could hold more threats than he realizes, but it is so nice to see a familiar face.]
I hope you're well?
((I'm sure you're fine! o u o I haven't even played the game tbh I've only watched the Let's Play. ;;; So hopefully my voice isn't all funky, either OTL.))
