I thought you would know better than to send me to one of such places, mun. I have many more important matters to attend to that simply can't be put off-- but then again, you are aware of that to begin with as well, aren't you? Even so, you seem to refuse to change your mind about any of this..

If there is truly no way to avoid it, then I suppose I'll just have to crush them as soon as possible to be able to move on once more. It can't be that difficult. The people currently in that place must just be types who haven't even fully put their mind to their goal if they haven't accomplished anything yet. [ Only Masako can insult a whole grou of people carelessly in one breath.. ]

Isn't it simple? If they would have accomplished their goals, they no longer would have been stuck in that place to begin with. They already would have been allowed to return home once more.

Negative. [ She shrugs off the question like she knows all the facts here, even though it's just what she assumes.. ]

After all, there would be no use in keeping those people around in that place after they've outlived their usefulness.

I haven't personally spoken to any of the residents there yet, so I can't exactly make a good assesment of what they are like just yet. However, it does seem like they are fairly incompetent if they haven't even reached their goal just yet. Not to mention that such a place requires you to team up with someone else, so finding someone capable is probably going to take a lot of effort. [ Sorry, she's all-business. ]

Jeez, you're all business, aren't you? I probably should have taken that fact from that little speech you gave at the beginning, but hell if I know what a sort of business girl like you does for a living. Do you have any battle experience? Have you fought for a goal, been in a war, killed a person? How are your skills with the sword, with the gun, with any other weapons? [ COULD YOU BE ANY MORE UP IN SOMEONE'S BUSINESS, MASAKO.. ]

Pardon me, but isn't it true that, in the same vein, you haven't accomplished much in the way of dissuading your mun from sending you to such a location? I would consider the possibility that they are in similar situations, although not, perhaps, all with the same caliber of mun.

.. I am willing to admit that I haven't been able to do much myself in this sort of situation. [ Even if that's already admitted super relunctantly, she doesn't like admitting it because of her sense of pride.. ]

But even so, judging from the way these muns seem to act, they have some sort of obsession with making the people they send to places stand out, right? In that case one would assume they would have let them have some great accomplishments at least.

I don't know about that, miss. While I certainly think it holds true for some of them, on the other hand, it seems possible that some of them rather enjoy the process of making people struggle to attain what things they are able to attain.

[He coughs politely.] Not to be too intrusive, but I may say that I have some experience with your mun, myself, and I tend to think that she might fall into the latter category.

What would be the purpose of that? Don't they have something better to do in their lives than making other people struggle?

It's an excellent question. There are all sorts of explanations, but I suppose most prevalent is the concept of our lives as entertainment. [Certainly not one he is unfamiliar with.] A hobby, if you will. A race of ancient gods, with flaws and desires, emotions they wish to satisfy, and - ah - "feels", I believe is the term, that they intend to create and hold delicately, like sharp-thorned flowers.

Of course I do. Doesn't everyone in life have a goal? Otherwise there is no point to life.. simply living through the days isn't really living, it's about survival and reaching your goals.

But there are the little things, aren't there? After all, reaching a destination takes a thousand small steps, no?

While I recognize that sometimes reaching your goal takes multiple steps, it's still important to go through them as quickly as possible. If you're just sitting around while you have something to do, you're merely wasting your time.

At the same time, isn't it possible that they are taking their steps, but from this distance, they're just too small to see?

And what kind of things exactly would be more important than accomplishing your goals?

It sounds like it from the reports I've heard. [ IT ISN'T EVEN REPORTS, MASAKO, JUST RUMORS.. calm down girl. ] You would think people would fight harder for their chance to return home, but it seems that all they do is loafing around.

[No Sojiro look at her SHE'S JUST A TEENAGER THIS ISN'T THE KIND OF SPY NETWORK YOU'RE USED TO.] But perhaps the people there don't really want to go home? Or they could be on a journey, so returning home isn't a priority.

[ Sojiro don't believe this stuff.. Masako just likes to believe she's more dramatic than she really is, okay. The problems of being rich and elegant and all. ]

.. Why wouldn't they want to go home? Is being kidnapped to some place you're unfamiliar with really that much better? [ Sure, Masako doesn't have much of a concept of a "home" either, but she sure as heck knows she can only accomplish what she wants back home.. ]
