Looks like he's going to
asgardeventide
[You see, mun? That wasn't so hard.
Sandy is cheerfully perched in a cloud of dreamsand, looking incredibly smug. He ought to look that way, since he managed to manipulate his mun into not only putting down a reserve, but to complete the whole application. Now, there's just to wait for applications to be opened.
Oh yeah, he knows he's good at getting people to do things.
Now, to figure out how he'll actually communicate with people when he doesn't have his dreamsand. (For the last time, mun, no, he can't just 'talk like everyone else'.)
He frowns thoughtfully, summoning the image of a pencil and paper. Can't he just draw?
...Hopefully, his skills with dreamsand art transfer to skills with pencil art.]

/tiny shrieking.
[Ohhey there. Yes it's Koz.]
no subject
Wait.
Wait.
Sandy pauses, then starts to just stare. What--when--why are you alive right now?!]
no subject
As far as why he's around? He's Kozmotis Damn Pitchiner and the constrains of linear timelines are a thing he kind of ignored.]
It's good to see you too.
Please excuse my relative ignorance of the books
He holds out his finger, as if processing the fact that Pitch is there but not there, then a big damn question mark appears over his head.
Please explain. What is happening? What happened to you? Are you an AU or just from the past or--you know what, if it's a question that could be applied to this situation, just answer it.]
It's all good.
[He smiles, though a seriousness comes across his features.]
I'm from the past, roughly... well, when your Man in the Moon's parents were still both alive and ruling the vast majority of the universe and he was still an infant.
I'm who the fearlings turned in to Pitch, unwillingly.
[He frowns a little.]
My name's Kozmotis Pitchiner, and apparently the woman you know as Mother Nature is my daughter.
no subject
Uh, what's the proper way to greet the past self of one's mortal enemy? A handshake? A wave? A punch in the face?
He settles for a handshake and an introduction. He sticks his hand out with a smile, making a little cloud of sand over his head followed by a big E. Sand-E. He knows that Pitchiner probably knows his name already, but he likes to be polite.]
I may have screamed when I saw that reserve. Just a bit!!!
...you're coming? [He blinks a few times, not believing it, then starts laughing.] You're coming! You're really coming!
no subject
Sandy smiles and gives a playful roll of the eyes, as if to say, 'Of course I'm coming.' You didn't think he'd just leave you all by yourself, did you?]
no subject
Jack gives a back roll in the air, like he did when Jamie saw him. This is great news!]
Finally some good news! [He shakes his head.] This is going to be a hard month so... I'll be great to have you there with me, Sandy.
no subject
Hard month? Sandy cocks his head curiously and a question mark appears over his head. What do you mean, Jack?]
no subject
Jack sighs and runs his fingers through his hair.] The city is being attacked... by the frost giants. Everyone will be frozen, but it's... bad ice. [It hurts him to say so.] I think I'm getting frostbitten too.
no subject
Sandy scowls, then shakes his head, the image of giants getting mobbed and defeated by little people appearing over his head. Obviously, they need to fight back.
Sandy doesn't know how helpful he can be with powers that aren't his, but he will fight. For Jack's sake as well as the children of Asgard's.]
no subject
[Well, as much "sound" as Sandy can do. Jack is ready to fight, though, he's just having issues with all this bad ice deal. It hits a little too close to home - it reminds him of his conversation with Pitch in the Pole.]
Is this how you felt when the dreams became nightmares?
no subject
Or maybe he's just old enough to look any challenge in the face and not feel overwhelmed. That could also be it.
His smile flickers, and he nods. Yes. It's never pleasant when one's own powers turn against you, especially when you feel like you should be able to fix it, but you can't.
Ultimately, one has to make peace with the fact that any kind of power can be used for evil purposes, and all one can do is do one's best to keep it under control.]
no subject
He arches an eyebrow, wondering if Sandy is aware of what he just... said?]
You want me to keep control? Chaos is my second name. [And he likes it that way!] Tell you what, we'll ask the shrines for a nice pair of whips for you, then you can give those giants the Pitch treatment. ...unless you're getting one of the cool powers, but I've learned not to expect much from muns.
no subject
Above his head, he forms a flower. He's getting the growth power, he believes. He can think of a bunch of things to do with it, but he's probably going to need time to actually get used to it.
Thus, the whips would be great. He gives a thumbs up to the idea, grinning. He's good with all kinds of weapons--with the ability to create any weapon you can imagine, it gets boring just sticking with one--but he prefers whips because they're versatile and much better for disarming than bladed weapons.]
no subject
Jack smiles when he sees the flower. Alright, a nice house for Sandy, he can agree with the choice. Though he has to admit he wanted him to get Drawing Life. He's going to miss those little figures above his head.]
Growth, huh? I bet Cottontail would want some words with you about that. [And Jack wants first seat tickets for it.] Are you... going to need a marker?
no subject
He rolls his eyes and a mini-Sandy and a mini-Bunny appear over his head. Mini-Sandy is waving his arms over a plant growing uncontrollably and mini-Bunny is freaking out over a cartoon that jumped off a piece of paper he was doodling on. With their luck, they would probably end up swapping powers entirely, so it evens out. He guesses.
As for the marker?
His expression screws up a little, then he nods. Yes. Yes, he will need a marker. And a legal pad. And possibly a winter spirit who can translate his drawings for him.]
no subject
His expression changes for one of sympathy when Sandy screws up his face. Yeah, the situation sucks, welcome to Asgard. Hopefully you're ready to walk instead of floating.]
No problem. I have crayons too, took the kids out to color the city. [Literally. There are doodles on the walls and the floor, and he's proud of those little ones.] I'm... still kinda new to translating you but, you can count on me. I'm not letting you out of my sight. ...not again.
[Oops, guess who still feels guilty about what happened with Pitch.]
no subject
Sandy arches an eyebrow and crosses his arms. It's not a posture that's not so much accusatory as... soliciting. No, he doesn't blame anyone but Pitch and himself for what happened, but he understands the guilt that comes with failing to help your friends. He's hoping that Jack will eventually come to him with his guilt.
Though knowing Jack, that might be a silly hope, so he's ready to just offer up the information: Jack, nothing that happened was your fault.]
no subject
But okay, not even he can play it cool under the weight of that look. He starts fidgeting and looks away, not being able to talk calmly about this topic yet.]
Don't give me that look. You know what I'm talking about.
no subject
Sandy's brow furrows and he shakes his head, gently tapping Jack's arm to get him to look at him. Then he points emphatically to the figures forming above his head. The dreamsand forms a little partial replica of Asgard, with Sandy and Jack in front of it, Jack with a little speech bubble above his head and Sandy drawing quickly, most of his drawings involving an arrow.
The basic meaning? We'll talk about this in Asgard. Don't think you're going to get out of it, mister.]
no subject
He can't help it, he chuckles. Three hundred years of freedom were too good to be true, it was finally time for Jack to get a "we'll talk about this later, young man!" from an adult in his life.]
Yes, mom.
no subject
Nonetheless, he gives a playful pout and makes a family tree above his head. The four Guardians besides Sandy keep changing spots, but Tooth mostly stays in the Mom spot and Sandy stays in the grandfather spot. He's the cheerful old man of the group, thank you very much.]
no subject
It takes Jack a moment to catch on, then he snorts.]
You're getting it wrong. You're the cool uncle, North is the old man who bribes his grandchildren with toys. [All is said with obvious humor. As weird as it is, Jack thinks he can get to love his new family. If he doesn't already do it.]
no subject
Sandy smirks and rolls his eyes before crossing his arms and blanking out all the faces from the family tree, replacing them with question marks. Alright, bucko, where do you think everyone belongs?
And don't worry, Jack. Your new family loves you too.]
no subject
[Simple as hell! And he totally didn't skip himself. Nope, he didn't. Really!!!]
no subject
No, this is not a way to force Jack to understand that he's included. Nope. Absolutely not.]
no subject
He stares at the tree and his moving face, not sure how to answer.]
I... I don't know? I mean, I know I'm the kids older brother but... I doubt it works like that with you guys.
no subject
Why make it complicated?]
no subject
You really have the ultimate answer for everything, don't you?
no subject
no subject
YOU'RE GOING TO COME! [She's resisting the urge to hug him so much, she's physically shaking with glee.]
no subject
It doesn't take a brain surgeon to see what she wants, and far be it from him to reject a free hug. He holds out his arms with a fond smile. It's okay, he's a cuddly Guardian.]

no subject
By the way, Alice, you're going to have so much sand in your hair and clothes after this.]
no subject
This is wonderful! I have so many questions I want to ask you! I have so many things I'm curious about! And Jack said someday you may come!
no subject
Sandy nods with a big smile, bouncing on the balls of his feet at her excitement. Two figures appear over his head--one little replica of Alice with a question mark over her head, and one smiling replica of Sandy. He'd be happy to answer any questions!]

Next to the planet Earth, he makes a new little planet, one with a little Asgard and Niflheim and other areas from Alice's game. He creates a new little person floating over the new planet, but as this one let out sand from its fingertips, it had a big question mark over its body.
Maybe there's another Sandman in her world? He's unsure, but for all he knows, his sand finds its way through worlds.]

Yes, losing their powers would be hard, but their powers aren't what makes them Guardians. What makes them Guardians is that they protect children, and even if fancy powers makes that easier, that doesn't make or break their identity.]
OMG that icon is ADORABLE
I found this art from a RotG storyboard artist and I HAD to use it <3
Just smile, little girl. Smile and believe.]
OMG Sandy stop being adorable
He can't help it! He's a tater tot with legs! He's made of cute!
He hugs her back, or at least hugs as well as he can with his tiny arms.
He looks forward to meeting you in the game, little girl. :) ]
