You sure do have a type when it comes to the characters you decide to pick up, don't you? Is five lines of dialogue or less a requirement with you or something? I mean, you could have at least waited until you got your hands on the comic before shoving me into a journal. Patience is a virtue sometimes. And yes, I know that I am starting to sound like Pentecost, but you seem to inspire that kind of thing.

So I've heard. Looks like I will be part of the welcome wagon once you are brought to the Shatterdome. It's...different there. More laid back, more relaxed. The Kaiju attacks haven't reached the same frequency there as back home yet.

Does not mean you can let your guard down. Kaiju may appear - ah, predictable - times in our world, but I do not know if same thing is true there.

I have said as much to the Marshal there. He said that he would keep it in mind. They lost a Ranger team not too long ago to a category III, and having their Jaeger be in full view of everyone in the Shatterdome while repairs are made is a pretty striking reminder about what lax attitudes can cause.

[He should know.]

[She nods, sparing a moment of silence for the lost pilots.]

It is a sad thing, to lose comrades.

I look forward to meeting this Marshal.

[Whether the Marshal will look forward to meeting her is another question. She has her determined face on, and when she looks like that there is not a thing in the world that can stop her.]

Marshal Gutierres seems to have a decent leader. He's no Pentecost - no one is - but I figure he has to be doing something right to earn the level of loyalty and respect his people have for him. I just haven't seen him in action beyond day to day operations to have a fair gauge on how he handles things when a Kaiju appears.

Well, that is the question. I will decide how to think of him when I see that.

Something that has been mentioned before - what is 'luau'?

A luau is a party with lots of food and entertainment. Gutierres sets them up as morale boosters every few months on the beach next to the Shatterdome from what I have been told.
