No, no one would... maybe just a spirit who looks...
But he knows her face, even after three hundred years of not remembering. He doesn't know her name or her favorite breakfast or whether or not she can read, but he knows her face, and he knows her voice.
So don't mind another random winter spirit just staring at you wordlessly, Emma.]
Oh, kiddo, just call him a kangaroo and freeze his feet to the ground. It gets him every time.
[After a second, he realizes that this might be a little confusing for her. He pulls back a bit, just putting his hand on her hair and smiling like an idiot.] Hey, we can fix that. Between the two of us, we'll be believed in.
[He swallows, forcing out a question he has the feeling he knows the answer to.] Do you know who I am?
Yeah, well, I can't complain. I didn't remember for three hundred years. I still haven't figured out the name.
[He considers for a moment. Briefly, he wonders if he should tell her at all, and then dismisses the doubt, because this is sister, and now they can be together.
He reaches into his hoody's pocket, fingering the cylinder filled with his teeth that he never got around to giving back to Tooth.] Sooo... I guess I owe you an explanation. What would you say if I told you that every spirit was mortal before the Moon picked them?
No, he basically just told me my name and let me wander around for three hundred years.
[He waggles the cylinder in the air, giving her a little smile.] We were all someone before the Man in the Moon picked us. None of the other spirits thought to let us in on the secret, though, because they assumed we remember what we were.
[He twirls the cylinder and holds the end with his human face against his cheek, allowing her to compare.] Look familiar?
[He glances down at the cylinder, twirling it slowly in his hand.] Yeah. I used to be a brunette--who knew? The point is... [He hesitates one last time, then offers it to her.] Things went differently for us. They must have, or else you wouldn't be around. But this might tell you how we know each other.
[Sandy's brow creases in confusion, and above his head, he makes an image of the Shepherd's crook and a question mark over his head. Where did you get that staff? And for that matter, who are you, young lady?
Maybe she's an AU of Jack? Sandy's seen female Jacks before, so maybe this is just a particularly little one.]

No.
Could it be?
No, no one would... maybe just a spirit who looks...

Huh.
He looks familiar too. And because of that, she floats up a bit and reaches out to pinch his cheeks into a smile.
What is personal space?]
What's the matter? Cottontail got your tongue?

OH GOD YOU ARE RELATED TO HIM]
Nah, he'd get a face full of frost if he even tried.
[He briefly attempts resisting, but screw it. He abruptly sweeps her up in his arms and squeezes like she'll disappear if he lets go.] You're real!
[Yeah, this probably seems weird, but cut him some slack. He hasn't seen her in three centuries.]

[djghsasdg Did not expect that!
Not that it's unwelcome, if the delighted giggle is anything to go by.]
Of course I am! Not that there are a lot of people that think so.

I definitely gotta try that one!
[Reaching up and holding onto his hand then watching him for a moment.]
Sorry, no. You seem familiar though.

[And now she's swinging on his arm until he takes out the cylinder. Childish curiosity takes hold and she let's his arm go, peering at it.]
H-hey, isn't that one of the thing that Toothiana puts baby teeth in?
[Oh right, she should pay attention. A few hundred years and she still has the attention span of a small child.]
I would say- [Wait, that makes no sense.] Actually, I dunno what I'd say. How can we be someone before we were... someone.
[Real articulate Emma. Really.]

Why would they think we'd remember? Wait... why don't we remember?
[Peering close and then... Oh! She just stares for a moment, kind of awestruck.] It's you! But your hair is different!

[She looks at him curiously before carefully taking it.] Are you... sure? You won't mind?

Sandy smiles cheerfully and waves. Hi, little girl spirit! Who looks a lot like Jack (seriously what's up with that)!]
no subject
Hey! Sandy!
[Waving excitedly and skipping over with what would be Jack's staff.]
no subject
Maybe she's an AU of Jack? Sandy's seen female Jacks before, so maybe this is just a particularly little one.]

I've always had this. Ever since the Moon told me who I was. I thought you knew that, Sandy.
[A spirit that doesn't know who she is? Ouch. Just ouch.]
