First time in an RP community, voice testing, needs lots of practice OTL
Uhm... [Fidgets slightly]
T-Thank you for... choosing me as your f-first muse...
I don't think that... I'm the best choice to start... b-but... with some practice, you might be able to get my voice right... we have p-plenty of time to practice... Please, don't push yourself t-too hard...

Oh, think nothing of it. I am simply speaking from experience- many are the people I have met in this place with nervous outlooks and worried minds, fearing and fretting that their first adventure would not be a succesful one. But just as it is with all things in life, once they took that first plunge and experienced the worlds for themselves... they found it to be a far more pleasant ordeal than they ever thought possible.
Would you like a cup as well?

I-I hope it's true f-for us... my mun had been watching this big place for a long time... almost a year, she says. B-but the negative side of it always held her back...

Not that I can be very nose, since I no longer even have a face! YOOHOHOHOHOHO!
[While the tea IS in fact perfectly servicable, no one could blame her for being apprehensive. For all his friendliness, spending over fifty years all alone on a drifting boat as an undead skeleton, surrounded by the remains of his former comrades had... resulted in Brook developing some rather off-putting idio-syncracies to maintain sanity.]

Um... [She tries to collect her thoughts and form words out. It's not easy for her to express herself, given that she never confided in anyone who wasn't Lilly. Or Hisao.]
My mun's probably mostly concerned... a-about the fact that... she doesn't know anyone in here. She was not dragged in by a friend, she has no guidance, and she's t-too shy and i-intimidated to... ask people for directions. Because she doesn't want people to think that... they have to... [a small pause here] ... to babysit her. [Oh how she hates that word.]
She'd never written an a-application. And besides... English is not her first language... and she'd seen that some places require a proper use of the language... w-which discourages her quite a b-bit... [She has to pause here... boy is it tiring to speak everything out to a complete stranger that looks like he came out of a B-rated horror movie. For Hanako it's like she's lifting tons of rocks all at once.]
WHOOPS then it became late and I had to go to bed. WILL PICK UP LATER.
I remember my own application as if it was yesterday. It was, beyond any shadow of a doubt, the second most rambling, incoherent piece of drivel my mundane had ever written, and still... and still it came in. English is his second language as well.
Of course, that is in and of itself not very encouraging, no? We all have our own approach to writing, but you should know that it can, at the very least, be done! Furthermore I will tell you something he would have benefited greatly from having known back then- study succesful applications for the game in question. It is often the best way to learn what style and content is expected from a "succesful" application. For instance the game I am currently situated in has rather light-hearted apps, seldom longer than four paragraphs of text. Which came as quite a surprise to him after he got me accepted with his two page-long monstrosity~!
Okay, I was gonna retire too anyway lol.
As the mister reveals some precious advice for her mun, Hanako feels the need to sit down, too. Fortunately there's a conveniently placed chair, and not too close to him. She has to hold the cup in both her hands, struggling to hold back her shivering.
... She brings the cup to her lips and sipped twice. After that, she let out a deep, stressed sigh, and tried to give him a thankful smile... which still ended up being a straight line.]
T-That's... helpful... we've never looked at it that way... she's mostly worried about the length needed to make a g-good application, s-since she heard of people taking so long to write it out...
[She sighs and leans back, looking down at her lap] M-My mun thinks your mun's English is so good... and... we wonder which game you are in...? [Just for reference, mun's head is ruffled by choices upon choices]

Of course, he isn't entirely oblivious to the fact that his appearance may be frightening, and her burns may have contributed to her withdrawn personality. But this discussion is not about her skin or his un-life, and as such he sees no reason to think overly much of either point. The girl wants advice, so advice is what he'll give.]
Ah, but of course~. My game happen to be known as
Now as for length, that is again one of those things in which you will simply have to identify what each game wants. Camp, as we colloquially call it, is mostly focused on humor so our applications are often shorter and more succinct- one usually gets three paragraphs, one that introduces our world and two for our character, and then four paragraphs of this... first-person narrative where they judge our 'voices'. But other places might require something far longer and more detailed, but in return they do not require the written samples to be succinct or necessarily amusing- just descriptive.

However... as we are speaking, my mun eventually found some other place where it could still be easy to apply... [She smiles, although weakly] I've gotten reserved in a game called
I'm glad... but also so nervous... b-but... thank you for... taking your time to help us... y-your advice did it for her at least...
Ha ha AND THEN RL ATE ME. Sorry for the late tag ;_;
[Brook that was horrible and you are horrible at giving advice. TIME TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT-]
But at any rate, I do wish you and your friend the best of luck in your new game. Just make sure to not have ~too~ much fun!
[Oh yes, he saw that Hisao is a boy and you two were looking at each other all soul-fully and with feelings of great friendship... and his perverted brain (even if it is long since gone) leapt to conclusions.]
Ohh it's alright~
[No, she won't at least. Unless her player decides to be a sadist one day and stuff her in that crazy place.]
... T-Too much fun? What's wrong with that...? [Hanako is an innocent flower WHAT ARE YOU DOING]
no subject
Oh, nothing, nothing at all~. I simply would not wish for you to overexert yourselves- one may have stamina, determination and great energy in ones youth, but sometimes the soft and slower approach is just the ~right~ way to go! YOOHOHOHOHO!

Indeed! It would not do to rush in and spend all ones energy in one go!

[And he seems to withdraw, and this looks like it will end on a nice note... except before he goes-]
Oh, and do be careful when you finally get around to kissing the boy- he seems so frail, that a single unexpected move would give him a heart-attack! YOOHOHOHOHO!
[And then, he just... runs off into the distance, fast as the Roadrunner. Because that is how he rolls.]
hdkshfjd ahahahahaha
[Her jaw drops. It sent her to such a shock that she can't say anything, watching helplessly as the skeleton ollies outie.
...You traumatized her. THANKS A LOT ASSHOLE.
LMFAO]
