First time in an RP community, voice testing, needs lots of practice OTL

Uhm... [Fidgets slightly]

T-Thank you for... choosing me as your f-first muse...

I don't think that... I'm the best choice to start... b-but... with some practice, you might be able to get my voice right... we have p-plenty of time to practice... Please, don't push yourself t-too hard...

[Hanako sees the gentle gesture, and whispers a stuttered "Thanks", before she slowly helped herself with the tea. Her hands are visibly shaking, so she has to pause, resume, pause again, resume, not to risk a mess-up and spill the drink out. Just how frightened is she?

As the mister reveals some precious advice for her mun, Hanako feels the need to sit down, too. Fortunately there's a conveniently placed chair, and not too close to him. She has to hold the cup in both her hands, struggling to hold back her shivering.

... She brings the cup to her lips and sipped twice. After that, she let out a deep, stressed sigh, and tried to give him a thankful smile... which still ended up being a straight line.]

T-That's... helpful... we've never looked at it that way... she's mostly worried about the length needed to make a g-good application, s-since she heard of people taking so long to write it out...

[She sighs and leans back, looking down at her lap] M-My mun thinks your mun's English is so good... and... we wonder which game you are in...? [Just for reference, mun's head is ruffled by choices upon choices]

[Goodness, what a nervous little thing she is. It reminds him of the girls of his home-island some times, how they would fret and worry over how their behaviour was not proper and how their every mistake would shame their families reputation... he doesn't miss high society much, suffice to say.

Of course, he isn't entirely oblivious to the fact that his appearance may be frightening, and her burns may have contributed to her withdrawn personality. But this discussion is not about her skin or his un-life, and as such he sees no reason to think overly much of either point. The girl wants advice, so advice is what he'll give.]

Ah, but of course~. My game happen to be known as

cfud, which... stands for something quite rude and we are better off leaving it at that~. And compared to some of the places I have seen out there with their constant torture, threats of death and world-spanning wars... well, I dare say it is downright comfortable and cozy in comparison. Not to say that it does not have its dangerous sides either, but all things are relative~.

Now as for length, that is again one of those things in which you will simply have to identify what each game wants. Camp, as we colloquially call it, is mostly focused on humor so our applications are often shorter and more succinct- one usually gets three paragraphs, one that introduces our world and two for our character, and then four paragraphs of this... first-person narrative where they judge our 'voices'. But other places might require something far longer and more detailed, but in return they do not require the written samples to be succinct or necessarily amusing- just descriptive.

I... I see... [She gives a small nod, sipping again, slightly more relaxed.] She looked at that game in the past, and... s-she doesn't think it's something I can fit in...

However... as we are speaking, my mun eventually found some other place where it could still be easy to apply... [She smiles, although weakly] I've gotten reserved in a game called

asgardeventide... and my friend Hisao is coming, too...

I'm glad... but also so nervous... b-but... thank you for... taking your time to help us... y-your advice did it for her at least...

Yoohoho, how wonderful~. It is always easier to accomodate to new places when accompanied by familiar faces! Of course, should the two of you ever change your mind and come by our camp, I would be most delighted to welcome you onboard... ah, though I would most likely have to warn you about the day when all our clothes disappear... and probably the mistle-toe which forces people to kiss, and the odd and vastly inappropriate mating habits of the swamp gorillas...

But at any rate, I do wish you and your friend the best of luck in your new game. Just make sure to not have ~too~ much fun!

[Oh yes, he saw that Hisao is a boy and you two were looking at each other all soul-fully and with feelings of great friendship... and his perverted brain (even if it is long since gone) leapt to conclusions.]

Oh, nothing, nothing at all~. I simply would not wish for you to overexert yourselves- one may have stamina, determination and great energy in ones youth, but sometimes the soft and slower approach is just the ~right~ way to go! YOOHOHOHOHO!

... [She thinks for a bit] I guess you're right... small steps and s-such... [He's the one with more experience after all. Also she totally missed the double meaning.]

[And he missed that she missed it. A circle of misses, all around!]

Indeed! It would not do to rush in and spend all ones energy in one go!

It would be n-not good indeed... [She puts the teacup down] Thank you for the advices... mister, um... [Oh yeah she never asked for his name, did she?]
