Um, as long as you think this is a good idea... Although we do need pointing in the right direction regarding a community which will take us. I believe your comparison to Skyrim protagonists and Mass Effect ones is correct. I'm hardly Sephiroth's great-grandson or something like that. But I just hope others see it that way...
Well... the thing is, if I go somewhere, I won't be able to find her. Or continue down the path I have been set upon, even if it is a precarious one...
...And not hearing it's voice any longer will be disorientating...

[The purple girl with futuristic armor laughs.]
It's not easy, being sent somewhere. But there are so many things to see! And so many people to meet!
no subject
But that... that is such good news! It appears we were quite misinformed.

I... know there's a tower, that takes people from anywhere. It's very scary, though. There's a game set in a city, where everyone gets something called a 'Persona', too! And there's one place where you're reborn there, and then start to remember who you used to be... Aah, I'm sure there are more. You just have to look?

Oh, is he glad that's not the only option. He looks shaken for a small moment, ears flattening and his hand moving instinctively to his chest, clasping a necklace. But! Miir shakes the look soon enough.]
I'd.... really like to meet people. And that's quite a few options already. Thank you, Miss...
Uhm. I believe we skipped that part. I'm sorry.
no subject
Er...
[But she doesn't quite get to the apologizing part. Introductions have been skipped! She gasps, a hand raising to briefly cover her mouth.]
We did skip it! I'm sorry. My name is Dakki. Dakki Sigal!
[And then she extends her hand to him.]
What's your name? And where are you from?
no subject
At any rate, there's a small bow when she introduces herself. And he reaches out his hand in a copying motion, a little... well, confused. WHAT IS SHAKING HANDS. Either way, he's hoping to wing it. He's already acted a little strange...]
I-sorry. It's good to meet you, Dakki. Very good, actually. I am Miir'a Ain, though... [most people without Miqo'te vocal chords find that a little hard to pronounce.] ...um, most people call me Mir. I'm from a land called Eorzea, on a world named Hydaelyn.
[A small nod, as if to reassure himself.]
What about you?
no subject
It's good to meet you, too, Mir!
[Her handshake is very firm, and one might suspect her grip could be much stronger. She is making an effort to be careful. It's so hard to strike that balance between reassuringly firm and accidentally bruising someone....]
Ohh, that's somewhere I haven't heard of, yet! I'm from the planet Parum, in the Gurhal System. What's Eorzea like?
no subject
Well... um. There's lots of things to describe... It consists of a number of regions with varying hamlets, villages and settlements dotted about and between. The Black Shroud, which is twelve forests, La Noscea, which is windswept plains, Coerthas is a region of hills, and Mor Dhona is desolate, shrouded in darkness... Um. I- That is to say- I haven't seen Coerthas or Mor Dhona, I think I've read it... somewhere...
[...Not with these eyes. And no, he hasn't read a thing about them. There's a vague look of remembrance, but he shakes it off. Um, yeah. Ears flattening? Again. He might still be shaking that hand too.]
and Thanalan, which is a large desert... But, I'm sorry. You're from another world?! That sounds fascinating!
no subject
Oh, that sounds wonderful! So many different environments, it sounds like such a diverse planet! Parum has a much more consistent environment, and much of it is developed farmland or cities... but there are still some smaller towns and forests and mountains...
[...oh, oh, right, the handshaking can probably stop now. She withdraws her hand with a bit of a laugh.]
Travel between planets is easy enough, where I'm from. Sometimes I take missions on Moatoob and Neudaiz, and I'm often called up to the Guardian's Colony for training. It is fascinating when you think about it, isn't it? Having so many places to travel to...

fearapprehension of speaking to women!]Yes, Eorzea is like that. There are three main cities, but multitudes of small settlements around them. And there's always something new to find! Why, just the other week, I was quite lost within Western Thanalan. It was very confusing! The desert suddenly turned into woodland. I wasn't paying much attention to where I was going and fell down a crevice. I thought I was quite done for, of course. There was a creature - an enormous thing called a Goobue - standing there! The poor thing had fled from the mountains at the Calamity and had turned into stone, and upon it's back, it's seedlings had spread. The years it had been there had meant the entire woodland had come from the saplings and seeds from it's back!
[Lots of nods! And. He lets go of the other's hand when she lets go, mimicking the laugh. That's part of the strange grabbing hand thing too, right? He maintains the smile. Missions! Ah, he understands that.]
Missions? Do you help people?

[he tilts his head a touch.] Her? Whose voice, may I ask?
no subject
[And his face falls, slightly. He raises his hand to his chest, a nervous, subconscious gesture which well... happens when he's a little unsure. But, Miir'a is nothing if not earnest. For better, for worse. ]
...I'm looking for someone. She is my ancestor, and I grew up on stories of her. She, among others, stood up to an empire in the sixth, the last, Astral Era. She was said to have been the one to bring an ancient form of magic - black magic - to the world again. She vanished in a bright light when the Calamity came to mark the beginning of the Seventh Umbral Era - alongside all of the others we call the Warriors of Light. Even the Matriarch of my tribe - her blood sister - forgot everything about her.
Yet...
[A small frown.]
The world is forgetting them all. And the more they forget, the more I remember. I remember things I was never told. I'd be quite inclined to think I was losing my mind and fabricating stories into something I see as real- Especially considering what spoke to me in a dream, but... recently I was given something, which a Calamity Salvager said was assigned to me. It's something called the Soul of the Black Mage. It was hers. But I feel close to it, I remember what it took to obtain it--
[And he breaks off! And adjusts his glasses.]
I'm sorry. I believe I've gone on a tirade you had no wish to hear.

Your ancestor? […but…
…then again, they did travel back in time themselves. And in this kind of place…]
… A sort of balance, then. And in that way… nothing is truly forgotten, is it? [just as time itself flows.]
[He shakes his head, waving a hand.] Not at all! I asked whose voice you meant to find… It's only natural that you would want to explain, especially since our worlds seem quite different! I only wish I had a story of as much intrigue to repay you with.
