Maybe I did. [He looks away, really really really not wanting to linger on that subject.]

So what are you doing here, anyway? My mundane likes to torment me with boring, every day things. I never get to go out. It's awful.

[BUT HE IS GRINNING MAN. He really thought you might've died on him!]

Nah, my mun is just hitting a snag in her life. Thought I'd offer her a bit of encouragement.

[Having this semi-normal conversation with Kuja is more than he ever could ask for.]

What's wrong with normal, every day things? Isn't it a good change? You might come to like it after a while.

[A new start for all of them.]

I. I don't know! [He actually pouts and crosses his arms.]

I don't like it. Do you really live like this? No plans of grandeur-- just wake up, eat, sleep, and do it again?

[Living normally is something that he's having a very hard time adjusting to; even being civil and learning to co-exist has been difficult.]

[Zidane laughs, feeling lighter than he had in a while.]

There's more to it than that. You can live a life that isn't boring without plans to destroy the planet. The others are safe and making lives for themselves, too.

[He wonders how Mikoto and the rest are doing with the Black Mages. It'd been quite a while for him.]

[argent_and_crimson]

[He fidgets.] I doubt they'd like to see me.

I suppose... You really are the superior one. I don't know how to do anything-- not like you do. "Jack of all trades..."

[He scoffs, but can't hide the hint of a fond smile on his lips.]

You're one of us. Why wouldn't they?

[He shakes his head.]

I'm not superior. I just probably grew up in a better environment.

[shrug] If we were switched, who knows. I might've been the same as you. But it doesn't matter what happened before. I can help you start over.

[argent_and_crimson]

Help me... [He let's that trail off, and it's unclear as to whether he's echoing Zidane's sentiments or actually asking for help. Kuja is quiet for several long moments before tapping a fingertip to his lips and grinning.]

I know! I'll just go somewhere else. This place has all kinds of different worlds I could go to. Maybe if I see other things... maybe then I can learn to just live.

[tribaltrance]

[Zidane merely watches him for those moments, before smiling.]

Yeah! And loads of great people who are willing to hop in and help out!

... Just try not to go anywhere dangerous. These places, no matter how strong we might've been back home, tend to be a little ridiculous.

My magic won't fail me. [A beat.] So you're really willing to help me... and just forget all of that stuff from back then? Just like that.

[tribaltrance]

[He's lost a lot of abilities where he is. Plus it's ... Atia, so this place is MORE than ridiculous.

He clears his throat to rid himself of the thoughts.]

If you're sure! You'd better stay alive, no matter where you end up!

[He crosses his arms with a sagely nod.]

We can't forget what happened before. We all have to grow from what we have done. It's moving forward and accepting. It's harder than forgetting, but it's what we need to do.

I'm not giving up on you, Kuja!

[argent_and_crimson]

Hm...Not forgetting, but accepting. [He tilts his head.] I think I can do that. Maybe I'll even see you. I'm sure nothing can be worse than being bored in this headspace.

[tribaltrance]

[grins] There's a lot out there to see! And if I'm around, we can figure it out together!

[Two sides of the same coin; without ambition, Kuja feels rather lost and wishes he could borrow some of his brother's optimism.]

I suppose I'd best do what I can to get along with everyone in the future.
