If that will be all, I should return to my consulate.

My writer wishes to compliment yours on the choice of username.

But the fun's just begun, Spock.

I think we're all pretty aware it's never that simple with humans.

It's hard for me to reason with them. Our societies have really different values. There isn't even a word for rape on my planet; after my mun explained what one of the memes was about, I almost refused to be her muse. What a barbaric species.

What are you, though? I'm half unicorn and half human.

That's odd. You smell human, sort of.

I'm Sunset Shimmer, of Equestria. Good to meet you.
betterthanperfect: (I Got This)

[She makes a bowing motion with her head, raising one foreleg off the ground and keeping it behind her.]

May harmony guide you, Spock of Vulcan.
betterthanperfect: (Dear Princess)

[personal profile] betterthanperfect 2013-07-08 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. As the personal student of Equestria's leader, Celestia, I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't get to know about your world and people.

What would you like to know, Spock? [As she says this, her horn glows and parchment and a pen appear in front of her.]
betterthanperfect: (Smile)

[personal profile] betterthanperfect 2013-07-08 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
In the old days, it was called hekka. Now, it's loosely understood as 'magic'. You see my horn? It lets me move things from a distance into being here, so long as the objects aren't huge or exceedingly heavy. I've been practicing since I was small. This is no effort for me, really.
betterthanperfect: (Really?)

[personal profile] betterthanperfect 2013-07-08 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
It's physiological. It's also genetic to be a unicorn, and have the most access to it. There are unicorns, pegasi and ponies, but in times of trouble I've seen a pony teleport and a pegasus fly through stone. When we're in danger, it activates in all but a very select few ponies.

I attended a school for magic where we worked to understand magic better. If you go to Equestria, you should stop there.

I will extend the invitation to the Princesses, then, and tell them that Vulcan may be a possible ally. We have been reaching out and attempting to make more alliances lately. I just wish I could explain hekka better to you, but while I have natural talent, I'm not a scientist. Sorry.
betterthanperfect: (?)

[personal profile] betterthanperfect 2013-07-08 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I'd like to know what Vulcan is like. Equestria is mostly forests, though we do have some deserts. But ever since the pegasi learned to use magic to control the weather, things aren't as diverse as I've been told they were hundreds of years ago. What's it like to be on a natural planet?
betterthanperfect: (?)

[personal profile] betterthanperfect 2013-07-08 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
If the majority of the surface is desert, what do your people eat? Are you herbivores like my people?

Age really has mellowed you; wish the same could be said for Jim.

[personal profile] hes_deadjim 2013-07-07 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, mellowed. I was gonna say "aged like a fine wine" but that's pushing it.

You take to your duties more gracefully than Jim; he gets moody, you don't let your age get you down, or the fact you're not gallivanting off around the galaxy as much anymore.
hes_deadjim: (with Spock)

[personal profile] hes_deadjim 2013-07-07 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Charged right into trouble? Strayed into it? Stumbled on it?

Gallivanting suits you best, commander.

I didn't want to remind you, but there was that time with the pollen...or that time you two decided to play at the whole gangster thing....

If you didn't secretly like gallivanting off with Jim, you might have started with reminding him that the captain's supposed to stay on the ship most of the time.
hes_deadjim: (My god are you serious)

[personal profile] hes_deadjim 2013-07-08 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
[McCoy gets a slightly soured look. Damn your logic for being so...so logical. Stop that]

Or he'll find some loophole, but over half the time I find you to be a partner in crime and taking just the same amount of risk.
hes_deadjim: (To blazes with your logic Spock!)

[personal profile] hes_deadjim 2013-07-08 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
Lord above, you aren't going to wave around risk percentage comparisons between the two of you at me! It's still too damned risky; with you two, a scratch can range between an actual scratch or nearly having your arm blown off. Hell, you'd probably step on a nail and call it an inconvenience!

[he's thrown his hands up in the air.]

And I come along as insurance, because dammit if someone's not gonna end up needing a doctor by the end of one of those missions.
