In my experience, step three is typically sending you to some world entirely divorced from your own, known as a "game," for your Mundane's amusement.

I don't mind danger so much. But I don't want to be just a pawn. Every place makes you do things you don't want to do.

Depending on who's pulling the strings, they'll go out of their way to make your life miserable. And most of these places take away powers, too. Sometimes weapons, also.

I don't have any weapons with me, and I can deal with losing my powers... as long as that doesn't mean I can't help out someone in danger.

But judging by what you're telling me that's exactly what would happen.
