After reading the last issue of "Masks"

Hehe, crime does take many forms, and its roots have many twists and turns. However it shall always be stamped out.

Also, I believe the saying which you had been thinking of is "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions." No wiser words could be given, remember them well, mun. Lest you too succumb to crime's sinful, bitter fruit.

[Nice hat.]

Crime doesn't pay in the end, does it? You'd think people would learn eventually.

Some do, though. Once in a blue moon, you'll see one of 'em try to get on the straight and narrow path. Some even stick with it for good. But most villains? You can't really bargain with them.

Woah now, buddy. They might be, y'know, villains and all, but let's not go overboard here! You come down on them like the fist of God, that makes you no better than they are. It takes finesse. Style.

...Or punching your way up the hierarchy and bashing in the head honcho's teeth, if you feel like being dramatic about it.

So you throw 'em in jail. -Actual jail, not the kind they bust out of every week. And you let the ones who want to repent try their hand at superheroing and see if they mean it or not. [Somebody's kind of a whippersnapper today, old man.]
urbanhero: (dance across the line)

[personal profile] urbanhero 2013-07-03 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
[You are the scariest grandpa. Of all time.]

Okay then. That's a whole new level of extreme, so how about we agree to disagree? Superhero to... well, vigilante.
urbanhero: (snack break!)

[Plus, Bats has the whole "no killing" rule.]

...I'm a fully licensed representative of the Paragon City Fire Department and Vanguard, sir. And trust me. If I ever went around killing the wackos? I'd be facing the justice system my own damn self. So spare me the "we are the same" stuff. 'Cause I ain't buying it.

[For shame, Bruce, for shame.]

I didn't say I did. I spend my days trying to keep street punks from burning down office buildings in Steel Canyon or Council fascists from attacking university students. I think if I actually tried to bash in the head honcho's teeth, the guy would laugh in my face. And then flatten me like a bug.

[Damn you, Lord Arachnos.]

Can you tone down the melodrama? Yes, no, little bit?

[personal profile] ofdrumsthesound 2013-07-03 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
Alright, so I'm a bit of a hypocrite. Sue me.

At least I don't do a stupid spooky voice for no adaquately explored reason.

[personal profile] ofdrumsthesound 2013-07-03 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Now you sound like the Doctor with a weird accent. Still an improvement, though. *He rolls his eyes and looks over his shoulder.* The 'popping up behind you' thing is a bit cliched, though.

[personal profile] ofdrumsthesound 2013-07-03 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
You may know about everyone's crimes. But do you know their good deeds, their pains, their fears? Do you know the reasons and the rhymes?

*He sneers at the Shadow, and his hands start crackling.* Have you ever considered that you're just as evil as everyone else, dear boy? You just think you have a better excuse.

[personal profile] ofdrumsthesound 2013-07-03 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
You have a bad case of the worst and most destructive kind of evil--the kind that talks about the greater good, and seems to think it serves the same.

I've been there, and it's really quite sad. But I was lucky; I eventually realized that I was really only doing it because I'm batshit insane. You should try it, it might be good for you.

My actions have been what madness has made them, and my hearts have better things in them than yours. I feel love, though its twisted. I regret, though probably not as much as I should. I hope and dream and desire, and all kinds of other thing that you've forgotten.

Oh, by the way--you should do something about that nervous tic of yours. Real people aren't supposed to laugh like that.

[personal profile] ofdrumsthesound 2013-07-03 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
It did take a while, I admit.

*And neither does he care, in all honesty.*

There's a difference between normal and real. Not to mention that my idea of normal is rather broad. *He grins.* Plus, there's such a thing as throwing your voice.

[personal profile] ofdrumsthesound 2013-07-04 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
I don't really care enough to have an opinion, sorry.

I'm just surprised you haven't committed suicide yet. Your mission in life is to kill evil people, but you're evil. Suicide would be a much simpler way of doing that.

[personal profile] ofdrumsthesound 2013-07-04 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, you actually laughed right that time. It's a bloody miracle.

And you have to admit, you sure act like that's your mission in life.

[Hey, someone who speaks his 'language' when it comes to crime. Daredevil smirks, crouching on a nearby ledge.]

That's a pretty altruistic view of the world.

[personal profile] daredevilawyer 2013-07-03 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
Let's just say I've been told that before. [Despite his dark clothes and mask, Daredevil is vigilante of justice and completely against crime. Especially organized crime.] Truth and justice tend to take a back seat to money and power one too many times in my side of town.
daredevilawyer: (daredevil rules)

[personal profile] daredevilawyer 2013-07-04 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Very true, I agree. While they do overlap, sometimes one forgets the other.

Who would you be if you don't mind me asking? [Guy certainly had a deep enough voice to be intimidating.]

Yeesh, Pumpkin, lighten up. I mean, we all do the scary righteous declaration tango when the occasion calls for it. Had a moment myself the other week. Made a whole speech to some fifth column punk I had tied to a strettlight, gave him what for in no uncertain terms. And suddenly I says to myself--Self, I says, he's unconscious and your time would be better spent at the sandwich counter. I would be exhausted after ten minutes. Seems like you're always on.

Yeah, yeah. You and I go to the same dance parties, Sparky. But while I'm the first to admit I am not only the cute but the fun half of the outfit, even the Boss ain't half as gloomy as you, and only three-quarters as likely to monologue.

Ah, great. Onna dose "Lawful Stupid" types.

Now, do ya have enough of a sense a humah ta do a Buddy Cop Comedy, or should I just go looking fer a anuddah Straight Man?
