Anyway. I wondered if I might have a word with you. No? But it's really very important. For you see, I've just met this man -- alien, although he looks like a man so I suppose the word still applies -- I've just met this man called "the Doctor." He's given my worldview quite the shake up, if you don't mind my saying so.

What's my point? I could tell you if you would let me get to it. I'm sorry, that was rude. My point is, I've had just about all the alien nonsense I can handle right now. Ordinary life does keep ticking, you know, and the problems of the common people need to be dealt with just as much as these grand world-saving occasions.

WHICH IS TO SAY -- please, I beg of you, let me finish -- that while I may only be a lowly MP, I am still a very busy woman, and I simply do not have the time to participate in all these "fourth walls" you're interested in. As grateful as I am that you have no plans to actually take me to a game -- and I am grateful -- I would be happier still if you would just leave me in peace.

To be fair, the Doctor was not the first alien to muddle things up. But he does seem to live a very exciting life, doesn't he?

A desperate hope, really. You see, there are a number of "games" that have these things called "fourth walls" coming up that my mundane would like me to participate in. I've been trying to tell her that I am far too busy, especially considering the world just barely escaped total destruction at the hands of an alien merchant family, but she simply will not listen.
