This place you're taking me. It sounds like a welcome walk in the park compared to where I was. But I still don't understand why. I was getting closer. Closer to Claudia, to finding out the truth. So why the interruption? What's so important in Mayfield?

At least in my case there's practically no way I'll see any of them, which I guess is both good and bad; good because I don't have to put up with them, bad because I'll never get a chance to ask them what the hell their problem with me is.

Can't say I've had to deal with any nutcases, myself. [Not recently, anyway, but this isn't her past she's talking about. Also, for Victoria's sake she's neglecting to mention that creepy guy they ran into on Planck.] Unless you count that talking dolphin, but he's not exactly a bad guy, just really weird.

It was weird... Even with the way he talked about her, I got the impression he was only going to kill her because he felt he had to.

And to think if he had, all of this could have been prevented. [His tone is almost mocking.] I saw what he did to her...Things like that have an effect on children. [Something about the way he speaks implies he's not talking about himself in that last sentence.]
