I think she wanted to voice test and see from then on what comes next. It's her first time.

Naturally, he would have. Elven eyes are not needed to know he is fond of you, and proud.

It is scary to take that step. My own has had her worries before, especially since I am pulled from 'book canon' as she calls it.

It is, but it could be very rewarding. The book canon is a daunting place but well worth it.

No, I am afraid I have not seen them. Well, I should say recently. One of my mun's friends has Pippin in sometimes. But Hobbits are not quite so common I am afraid.

Sometimes I worry about Pippin when he is out of sight. Doubly so when Merry is also nowhere to be found.

For that, I cannot blame you. And yet, they are quite capable when the need arises.

Yes, they're some of the best you can have at your side. No one could ask for better hobbits than those two.

Merry and Pippin are capable in many things, including every sort of mischief available to a hobbit and then some that isn't. Did they ever tell you the nickname they earned back home?

Some of my relatives have, but that, dear Legolas, is a different kind of terror.

Merry and Pippin have a devilish streak greater than anything you have ever known. Sandyman, I believe, insisted for the longest time that Hobbiton was being haunted by the ghosts of a pair of ravenously vengeful rabbits.

He never did find out it was Merry and Pippin all along.

Hobbits are such wonderful people! So lively, and so many stories. I am surprised that they have not told these tales, in a guised form, considering their love of tale.

I can imagine how that would fare.

"The Lay of Leithian", the "Fall of Gondolin", and then we find, "The Twin Terrors of the Shire", perhaps with the subtitle, "the Numerous Exploits of Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took"?

As much as your uncle probably believes we Elves do not appreciate his rhymes and tales, we do indeed enjoy them. Such a tale of mischief would be welcome among all the others.

He did say elves were the more solemn of all the audiences he's had, but that they were also some of the most polite and considerate.

Giving Merry and Pippin reason to provide more "exploits" as source material, however...

It is polite to allow the speaker to speak. Perhaps others do not view it the same, but myself, after being around you Hobbits for a while, feel that it is an honor to hear the things you tale.

Though I suppose I must agree with you that those particular Hobbits are quite a handful!
