A slime draws near!

[It's a slime. Just a regular, ordinary slime. It can't even talk, but it seems excited that its mun has made it a journal, and it expresses this happiness by bouncing around, glooping, and burbling happily. This is a slime that has high expectations for a life of adventure, not just being one of a sea of its kin that level 1 adventurers splatter by the dozen before moving on to bigger and better things!]

[A human! Humans usually spell certain doom for slimes, but this one's a step ahead of the pack, since it doesn't try to attack her and get itself smashed for its efforts. Instead, it hops around a little and gives her a big, slightly-dopey smile and a grin, because that's a pretty good description, alright. Goo and a face, that's all it is, and all a slime needs to be.]

[this young lady crouches down so as to be less threatening. Seeing things in person is a new experience for her] Wow I wonder what you are. What do you eat? Wait do you eat?

[Eat? Sure, it loves to eat! And it will eat just about anything, too. A couple more happy hops, and it looks around for something to eat, now that she's brought it up.]

Oh oh-- uhm. [She searches around and brings out a couple of crackers] I' sorry I don't have more for you.

[Veronica kneels down, leaning on one of her many swords, and stares at the slime.]

Uh... hello there.

[Swords! Oh, no, it's gonna die, its legend is already over, goodbye sweet world-

Oh, wait, the human's talking? Funny human, too, look at those face marks. The slime is extremely unsure about this, but it isn't going to do an about-face and bounce off as fast as its pseudopod can carry it. Instead, it rolls about from side to side, peering between the human and her weaponry.]

[She just looks down at it curiously. It seemed to be some kind of... water dropplet with eyes. Did her sister have something to do with this? Was it another creation of hers?

Noting it's nervous face, she stashed the sword back into her cloak.]

I'm not gonna hurt you... okay?

[The instant those swords are out of sight, the slime's frown turns upside-down. If it can't see a threat, then there isn't a threat! And on that note, just because it's an intelligent life form doesn't mean it's an intelligent life form.

Without the swords to threaten it, and with the human promising to be good, it gurgles and hops up close to her to get a good look. This is a rarity for slime kind, to see a human and not immediately attack or be attacked, and it has to study her carefully for the good of gooey science.]

[To get a better look of her own, Veronica removes her black hat and sets it down, revealing her raven black hair and the stitches that connect with the big ones on her face.]

I'm... I'm Veronica. Do you have a name...?

[There are times that being incapable of communication can be such a bother. Do all humans have those stitches? Why does she have hair? Are hands really useful? What's a name? Why does it even understand her speech?

All questions it can't ask. Instead, it flattens itself out on the ground for a moment, then bounces a foot into the air before splatting back on the ground. In the absence of speech, movements will have to do... and in a few years, it might even come up with the idea of assigning meaning to individual movements all on its own.]

[Yeah... that mean't nothing to her. So even though this thing could understand her, it couldn't speak? It proably wasn't her sister's doing them.]

I guess I'll call you... Splat. It's as good a name as any I guess.

[Oh, is that what a name is? Yay, it has a name now! The slime is pleased, and it show this by rolling around some more, and since she named it Splat, it bounces around and makes more of those squishy noises. Funny, though, how it isn't leaving a gooey mess everywhere, isn't it?

So, now that it has a name, and a human acquaintance, what's the next step of its adventure? Humans form adventuring groups, right? ...How do those work, again?]

[It is rather odd that the creature didn't leave behind any mess when it moved. Veronica likens it to a small miracle, because this thing sure did like to move and she certainly didn't want to clean up after it.]

Heh, be careful. You might hurt yourself with all that bouncing.

But it can't so it settles for rolling and hopping around to inspect him from all angles. A very hairy child, that's for sure.]

[This humble slime... doesn't even realize it isn't even talking to a human, but it doesn't care either way. He's paying attention to it, and it's happy enough with no swords or sticks or anything else that might turn it into a blue smear on the grass. Wiggling and hopping, it looks up at the blond man with a nice, big smile.]
