talking in reactive circles
Perhaps you would have better luck finding a variety of people for me to interact with if you finally took me to one of those places.
Though I suspect you know I wouldn't stand for much of the absurdity some of them revolve around, and as such cannot wholly fault your ongoing hesitation.
The fact remains, however, that you itch more than anything to find me company. More company, particularly from my world; I will confess to enjoying those I have spoken to of late, and I appreciate that you would have my interests at heart, so until given cause to, I will not oppose this. Slightly misguided and indecisive though you are, you seem to have decent intentions. (And I know you have your eye on specific company, but they are unlikely to appear. I cannot in good faith tell you to give up, but I think you're perfectly aware that it is safest not to put your trust and hope in specific others.)
And what's this, incidentally, about the potential modern account "if only [my] hair was the proper color in real life"?

Of course, it's not just her mun that would welcome this company, though those "alternate universes" her mun is always on about would mostly have to be employed or else they'd have to go back in time, before deaths and the things leading to them. She can't very well allow herself to say all of this aloud to a stranger, though. (She'd deny needing or wanting anyone to most, but her mun is less reticent.)]
Women I know or knew, my handmaids and -- [long pause] -- friends.
no subject
They are indecisive. You will rot and die before your master finds an adequate hold. You must force action.
no subject
I have no intention of rotting or dying, I assure you.
no subject
All sillesejoor die. Men, mer, beast, all go to bones and are forgotten. You must live before the inevitable.

[Pause.] Mainly -- those I've known, my handmaids and confidantes. My writer can be quite nostalgic and interested in exploring alterations to the past.
no subject
And what other alterations might there be~!?
no subject
She -- my writer, that is -- keeps talking about "futureverses" and "endgames," which I suppose are alterations of a kind as well.
no subject
It would of course please me to have you as a company, my lady. You are the noble across the narrow sea, are you not~!?
no subject
I am, yes. [On her very best behavior, now.] Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen. [And the rest of it doesn't seem necessary to this conversation, so she refrains.] I must confess, however, that while I know of my home country's great houses, I am not well-versed in the individuals who make them up...? [Which is her very roundabout way of saying that while it is easy for her to recognize when someone is of a position of prominence, she cannot easily put many names to faces (she's sort of been tending to other matters than memorizing features and names of those in the families, after all) and would be very grateful for explanation.]
no subject
It's a pleasure. [She gives her a short curtsy at her introduction. She of course gives her a soft and respectful chuckle while curtsying once more] I am Lady Margaery of House Tyrell. [She of course chooses to be quiet about the relationship she has with the Baratheons]
no subject
Lady Margaery. [With the utmost respect as well. She remembers the tales and speculations about House Tyrell's loyalties from her brother.] I am glad to make your acquaintance.
no subject
[She smiles sincerely. It was a joy to meet people from other houses. Connections had to be maintained to ensure continuity and power of her house.] As am I~! As you know, Highgarden is dreadfully far from the Narrow Sea and Penthos. Tell me, how is everything~!? I am quite curious.
no subject
no subject
I hear you have a brother. Do you get along with him~!? [She doesn't want to assume that all nobles had brothers like her who had Margaerys' interest at heart]
no subject
And then... less of that, rather quickly.] My brother is dead, I regret to say. [A loaded statement, of course: really, she does not regret his death. She regrets that the last family known to her met and deserved such an end, but that's neither here nor there. She also very conspicuously does not discuss their relationship when he was alive.]
no subject
Well that is quite an unfortunate event. You must be quite devastated. I would be unspeakably mournful if any of my brother's met an untimely death.
no subject
It seems now that it happened ages ago, though it was barely a year. [Said as another in a better situation might say "oh, it's all right" and she switches the topic as soon as she can. Margaery seems a lovely girl, but Dany barely discusses her brother with people she's well-acquainted with, let alone near-strangers.] Are you close to your brothers, then?
no subject
However long it was, you have my condolences Lady Daenerys. [Margaery gives her a courteous smile and takes note of her reaction to the death of her brother. She will make sure to use this information one day. She didn't seem sad about it, and she'd like to know why one day.]
Quite close. All of them have my best interest at heart. Always. Most especially my dear brother Ser Loras. I'm sure you've heard of him. [His beauty is known across the kingdom of course.]
no subject
She doesn't acknowledge the line of conversation about her brother beyond another small nod, but her smile grows at the mention of the other woman's brothers.] I have. [Not in terribly much detail, and she doesn't trust the few whispers and rumors really, but she knows the name.] It sounds as if you're quite fortunate in them.
no subject
Oh I am quite fortunate in them. I am only so lucky to be born in the house Tyrell. They are strong and very protective brothers.
You should meet Ser Loras one day. He'll charm her lady from her feet with just one smile.
no subject
Until the word 'charm' is said. Oh, it only fades into a more neutral, assessing expression, she's careful of that. But she has a tendency to be -- well, honestly suspicious when it comes to such matters.] I'm sure he's very agreeable.
no subject
I wouldn't use the word agreeable my lady. [She is fond of saying nothing but good things about her family as much as possible] He is the Knight of flowers. He is one of the most skilled knights in all of Westeros, and his smile and features are quite endearing.
no subject
I see. [She... doesn't necessarily thrill over knights like some, and she's probably got slightly unconventional notions of what might make features endearing, but she's willing to at least be polite.] Certainly, I'd be pleased to make his acquaintance someday.
no subject
If you find yourself visiting the Reach someday, I shall introduce you to him¬! He will be quite honored to meet such a fine lady as yourself.
no subject
[Then it's time for that careful "not thinking about strategy at all smile.] I look forward to it, whenever it should happen. [Not if.]
no subject
Perfect. I shall make sure to tell Ser Loras about it. [It would be amusing and beneficial if through marriage, House Tyrell is able to expand their power.]
no subject
[Nodding politely, then. She will not say anything more on the subject of Ser Loras until pressed.]
no subject
Unfortunately, I am only told of things I need to know to be a loyal wife and a dutiful member of my house towards people of the Reach most especially Highgarden.
[She gives her another smile] Please do tell.
no subject
[A rather nice way of putting it on the one hand, considering the copious amounts of, well, fire and blood that went into this effort, but that's details.]
sorry for the late reply >.<
Lady Daenerys, you did this alone? It must have taken lots of planning.
oh no worries.

This is going to be pure crack but so much fun (I don't watch GOT but I do watch Dany on YT!)
What, do tell, Your Highness, is a "modern account"? My Lady Mun is now considering one for me.
I am Djaq, from the Holy Land.
In the one and only game My Lady Mun has placed me in at the moment, I have much company from my world, including a man who was my enemy, Guy of Gisborne, but is now no longer such and is something less than a friend at this point. I shall have to see how my mun and his mun change our relationship. The leader of my group of friends, Robin of Locksely is also there, as is his wife, Lady Marian. My beloved Will Scarlett is also in the game as are our friends, Allan A Dale and Much.
Perhaps you could tell me of your world and your life if you wish, Your Highness and I shall return the favor?
(OOC: and now you have a 12th century Saracen Outlaw healer crashing the party. She knows very little about ASOIAF/GOT aside from the fact that Daernerys is 'the
girlKhalessi with the dragons who is awesome and needs to win the Iron Throne. Because KHALEESI AND THE DRAGONS FOR THE WIN!' in the words of This Mun. This Mun doesn't watch the show, but does search youtube for Dany clips/snippets. She is clearly my favorite. Count This Mun on "Team Khalessi", Daenerys, My Khaleesi and my Queen.))no subject
It is a pleasure to meet you, Djaq from the Holy Land.
My writer seeks a game, yes. Sometimes I fear she is more taken with the idea of one than the actuality of it, but she swears she intends to find one. The modern account is another way for her to kill time, where she would play me in a more "contemporary" alternate setting. She claims this would be an overall happier experience, though I have my doubts.
That sounds quite appealing for you. I imagine the abundance of companions makes it enjoyable?
[After a moment of consideration, because until she has a better idea of her new acquaintance she's not likely to spring into chatter completely:] What of my world interests you?
[[The fealty is much appreciated! I've seen a bit of Robin Hood though not nearly all, so you may actually have me at a disadvantage, but I welcome this party crash with gladness.]]
Here, have a Narnian King with a knack for languages!
Nor does Edmund suffer well those who betray the one to whom their loyalty is given. However, he has an ear for languages and as such, possibly might be pronouncing 'Khalessi' correctly, although he could well be pronouncing it wrong, this being his first exposure to and attempt to speak Dothraki. Daenerys is welcome to correct his pronounciation if that be the case.]It is a pleasure to make your acquitance, Your Majesty. [Edmund bows to the appropriate degree used when one is meeting foreign royalty, and then offers a smile to Daenerys.] Allow me to introduce myself, Your Majesty. I am Edmund James Pevensie, The Just, King of Narnia, Duke of Lantern Waste, Count of the Western Marches, Sir Edmund of the How, Knight of the Noble Order of the Stone Table and Lord of the Western Woods. [Edmund takes a deep breath, clearly reciting his titles takes a lot of air.] You and your world intrigue my mun very much but alas, my royal lady, she has yet to see your show or read your books. She says it is something to do with her mother disapproving of such a series, but she is more than old enough to make up her own mind about such matters, i do believe.
These Muns are quite determined to have their way with us, no matter how we fight it, aren't they? Sometimes I wonder if it is not better to go along with them and make thinfs eiser on one's self, then I remember that yheyveill dobas they wish, regardless of our cooperativeness or lack there of. Lion's Mane, they can be an incorrigible lot at times.
At least my Lady Mun is not at all like that Witch-Queen I allowed to trick me the first time I entered Narnia. She was horrid, and glad I am that I saw the truth about her and was brought to Aslan's camp and given a chance to set right my wrongs. My Lady Mun is kind enough to allow me my twin swords and my steed Phillip as well as plenty of room to wander about in what i believe is called a 'headspace'. Finding a game for me is her concern at the moment. She is just beginning to look for places for me to go to.
(Hi there again, this is the Djaq mun, coming at you again with a new muse. King Edmund Pevenise of Chronicles of Narnia fame.)
no subject
She returns this, offering a slight curtsy and smile, nodding to the titles. He is not of her world, he is not concerning, but he is nonetheless deserving of respect. (All are, of course, but these are important formalities.)] The pleasure is mine. How do you prefer to be addressed, Your Grace? [She herself will accept most any title as address, but she has been asked before which she likes better -- particularly whether she favors the correct Westerosi titles or "khaleesi" -- so she would extend that courtesy as well.] I will say that I understand the hesitation some would have to try to take on my canon; it is true that there are troubling elements, problematic ones, but as my writer is fond of saying, everything is problematic occasionally and it is more how you deal with the problems as a viewer or reader, or even as the creators of the material, that is important. I fear any recommendation that either of us would offer would be slightly biased, but harmlessly so.
[She considers this next carefully.] That sounds quite a trial. I have been surprisingly fortunate as well, my lady mun is not nearly so interested in angst as some seem to be and takes into consideration what I would and would not enjoy; I suspect this is part of her hesitation about finding a more permanent residence. So many of them seem to involve their players being beholden to some omnipotent other with a cruel sense of humor, and I can at least thank the gods that she has the sense not to force me into that.
