Sorbet spoilers incoming.

[For a man who often chooses his words with as much ease as he does care, Hannibal is awfully silent. That is the face of someone stumped, worrying their jaw by the foreign nature of the whole thing, the mundane's picking and chiding included.]

Have you considered that comparing my behavior to that of a pre-pubescent, sexually compromised vampire might not be the way to my heart? While I can see why you would be inclined to make such a leap, it is a far cry from the key to my conscience, or what may be left of it.

As for that matter with Abigail and Mischa...again, a topic you may want to reconsider. If you must pry at the hinges of my psyche, i would choose my options more wisely.

[Oh yes, changing the subject from Will to Abigail, that's going to get your mundane to stop poking.]

On the contrary, I don't expect you to stop, I expect you to get thoroughly distracted by a different problem. Notably, one that I have had much more time to consider, and one that I happen to know you are emotionally invested in. Bon appétit. And breathe.

I've read it. [Though her mun hasn't. She'll be over here shaking her head at a person who presumes to play a writer without reading as much as she does.

Still, when she pulls at her hair and stares at him there might be something a little too..intense in her gaze.]
So you admit that ultimately nobody really matters?

That's an interesting attitude.

What do you do with an attitude like that?

[Yes. Oh yes. The veil of her hair parts and she tugs on her cardigan for a moment.] Yes, exactly. The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance according to Aristotle. Which is why it's important to bless them, to understand their...their sacrifices.

[Overt burst of emotion. Then she withdraws] At least that's what I think.

And I won't. Although that disinterested attitude is pretty poor for a doctor. Do you work with Doctor Godfrey?
