voice testing, be gentle?
And so, I am here. As much as you've toyed with the idea, I did not think that you would honestly go through with this. I am not a Lady to be trifled with.
( her smile grows wry. )
In hopes of seeing my husband, are you? And why? So he can run off again, or even worse, deny my sacrifice for him? No, I do not wish that. Better that he not know I was here, so I might be free to do as I wish.

Ah! You do jest; I am not fooled. It is a mystery to me why you think I might be. I know not the lady's face nor form, and I have known many. Her words do not bind us -- and mercifully so; I would more fain take a blade to myself than a wife. That is one cup from which I will not drink: rather give me poison and be finished.
Lady who would be wife, I need not know you to see how your words twist. Most would be glad to live, yet you speak of reluctance. I know you run because I have listened.

Perhaps you think me foolish, but I have not yet reached the point where I do not recognize my own husband when I see him - trickster, indeed! I have always known him where I found him.
And you did once desire a wife, enough so that you took me away from my betrothed to have me yourself, married by the Allfather!
( She takes a deep breath, attempting to manage her anger. )
If I am reluctant, it is only because this tiring and unending quarrel between us saps all my strength.

Then you have failed now. I have known no marriage. You may ask the Allfather himself, if you can impose upon him to speak of me at all. Perhaps you would know my mind, lady wife; I grant it you. Ask: you may have the whole of me, all of my years for your perusal, that you may see them in their completeness, utterly devoid of you. I know you not.

This cannot be possible, and I will not stand for this. Many insults I have taken at your hands, but this is worst of all - you shall not deny me as your wife as you do now! ( What proof does she have? Where can she find it? )
If the Allfather can confirm this, I demand to be brought to him immediately!

[Loki spreads his hands.]
Go to him, woman; go. Wear your madness upon you and let those golden halls reflect it back. See for yourself.

Have I not, husband, throughout your quarrels with the Allfather and your brother Thor stood by you as your faithful wife? Have I not entered pleas on your behalf before court? ( Her tone is not any less harsh, or any less annoyed. )
Regardless of where you are from, I have honored my vows! I have done my duty! Your unwillingness to do yours shows you to be the worst kind of knave and yet I know you to be a better man! Where is your honor, Loki?!

I have no wife!
[The words that follow are softer, but no less angry. He is angry, and earnestly so, wearing an expression not of cold fury but of another sort of rage, aching and confused.]
Did they send you to torment me, Lady; is this my recompense? Insufficient that I am banished, insufficient that I am left for dead, you must also laugh; if they did send you then you know as well as I do that nobody has fought for me. No wife of mine, for I have had none. And if you speak true, if you speak true, bekkjarbót, then whatever creature to whom you made your vows, whatever his name and whatever his face, we are not of a mind. I promised you nothing, and you, you speak of my honour. I have none, yet I do not stoop to stealing a stranger for a husband.
[He bends, just far enough to look her straight in the eye.]
I am not fooled, and you do not torment me. Go home. Take your pay.

Pulling back slightly as he leans over to eye level, Sigyn forces herself to meet his gaze, as much as she would love to look away in shame. There is a long pause. )
.. I am sorry.
( The words are painful, but it is as he says; he has no wife. He does not recognize her. Regardless of the fact that she knew him as her husband, perhaps he was from one of those 'different' universes that they spoke of. But she had caused him pain and pain on that familiar face only hurt her.
He is her husband or will be one day, but this time, she must let him go. )
Your name is Loki and you look very like him; you know of Thor and the Allfather and Asgard, and so many other familiar things .. and yet, you are as you say. You have no wife, my face is not familiar to you. ( She clasps her hands before her, bowing her head slightly. ) I have imposed upon you and treated you rudely; I apologize, I did not mean to torment you so.
( And then.. )
My husband also had his scruples with Asgard, but he was never alone. Regardless of how often he left my side, I have never strayed from his. No matter who you are, simply Loki or my husband, I do not believe you are so alone.

[He shakes his head, lips pressed together. No.]
The Allfather has never borne me much love; now he bears me none at all, and brother dearest has always been eager to follow in his father's footsteps. I am welcome no longer in Asgard's halls, nor would I see fit to grace them. I choose my isolation, wife; I am no ás, and I have no desire for their pity. Or yours.
Nor will I give you mine, but I will tell you that you are a fool. Our lives are too long for such nonsense as devotion; this you must know.

HE'S MARRYING YOU OFF TO A TROLL JUST YOU WAIT JUST YOU WAIT]
is it possible to die of laughter?? (hope this is ok!)
but why would it not be ok tho
But hey! Suffering builds character, right? Suffer forever, you'll become an awesome god who can lift Mjolnir and do whatever you want. Stick it out, Sigyn, and watch Loki's world crumble as he shucks out gold for all his freak monster babies.]
Sigyn can be an iffy character for some people, so I wanted to make sure! c:
moment of temporary insanitycharacter that she stuck to her wedding vows all the same... it would be nice to be able to lift Mjolnir. and hit Loki with it. and perhaps make him stay long enough to do more than cause chaos. perhaps actually act the part of her husband. )
nah man it's all good
But what do you expect when you're the god of gods, right? Everyone looks to you, for praise or blame or...awesome horses.
Oh, well now. He wouldn't mind that at all. Aim for the face, will you? Particularly the jaw, shut that mouth of his for a while.]
your odin is so amazing!
maybe you should make those horses less sexy kshe'll do her best to hush him up for a few weeks, though! )
