[Most of Midna's smiles are more like smirks. Not that she's incapable of smiling, because she isn't. Just that it's easier to be a little smarmy in the face of the past.

Her own greeting is equally modest. No sense in tiring out her darling arm.]

Well, if it isn't my favourite beast boy.

[Her only beast boy, actually. But he should know that.]

[He gets it. No correction from him, though there is a slight lifting of his eyebrows and a widened smile. Also, it's beast-man, okay? But whatever.

Respectful as he is, words are usually reserved for the appropriate, important times, such as now.]

Midna.

[Oh, you. She's only teasing. But that's Link, she supposes. Sometimes serious.]

Hello.

[She moves around him, leans in to get a look, and eyes him from head to toe.]

You look well. Or you missed me. Which is it?

[He goes rigid, face blank like a soldier during inspection for a bit. At her question he readjusts his cap after scratching his head and just offers her another smile and a shrug.

It's probably both, he's well plus he missed her.]

[She does roll her eyes. In a subtle fashion anyway and she gives him a sincere smile in return.

Midna opens her arms for him.]

Then come get me.

[She's only ever been a mite presumptuous and vain. She likes the thought that he missed her.]

[There's a slight choking sound, then he clears his throat, then he laughs. His face is probably more than a little red at that. Despite all that, she gets Z-Targeted for a hug.

Albeit it's a shuffling, awkward one since she's managed to turn this usually-graceful knight into a goofball with her attitude.

Yes, he did indeed miss her.]

[Oh, look at him being precious. Link's modesty and reserved nature has always been a refreshing contrast to her often direct and brazen behaviour.

And all this is, is a simple embrace. What a conservative knight she has.]

That's better.

[But she doesn't make him uncomfortable for long. Her posture straightens when she withdraws and her hands lift to straighten out his apparel.]

I might have missed you in return. A little.

[Her teasing about how much she missed him makes him smile a little more at her. She adjusts his clothes, so he adjusts his cap again even if it's completely fine. Mostly the action gives him something to do with his hands since he doesn't know what to do.

He finally nods and straightens himself up to look around and then back to Midna. There's a moment of thoughtfulness on his face as he chooses his question.]

Have you been here all this time?

[She shifts to fold her arms over her chest. And she thinks.]

I'm here when I'm permitted to be.

[Twilight Realm and all. Silly rules about consorting with Light Dwellers.]

It has been some time since I could stretch my legs, however. You're a sight for these sore eyes of mine, Hero. And what of you? Wandering about like a lost puppy, perhaps?

[Perhaps is the correct answer.

He thinks for a moment and then nods. What else does he do besides wander around? This time he just doesn't have a kingdom to save or an evil to vanquish. Nope, he's just here at the whim of his mun to talk to his favorite Twilight Princess.

It's time for his inspection too, but he's not as invasive. He just glosses her over with a concerned look for a moment.]

[She could ask a lot of questions and it wouldn't be unlike her to either. Midna's got a bit of a penchant for being nosy and sticking herself in situations that probably shouldn't involve her. But in her opinion, if it's Link's business, it's her business, as well.

His examination - as subtle as it is in comparison to hers - does not escape her eye.]

Yes? Do you see something off about me?

[He glances up when he's caught. There's no answer at first, and since he's already been caught, he looks again a little more closely. She looks fine. At least she doesn't seem to have been in any trouble lately, so that's good.

So he smiles and shakes his head. Nothing off about her! She's completely on. Or something. Whatever.]

[She gives him a knowing smile. He thinks he's so clever. Actually he probably doesn't. He isn't like her. He's never made a habit of being full of himself.]

Oh, I see.

[Midna grins.] You were admiring me. I suppose it's been long enough that it's warranted.

[There's that choking noise again as he shakes his head a few times. He's red again too. No, he was just making sure she was okay! Really! Sure, there's a lot to admire obviously, but he's entirely respectful!]

[He's so much fun to tease.]

I wasn't being serious. You're wound much too tight. You should let me do something about that.

[It's been so long for her to see him that she really can't resist.]

[That makes him tilt his head slightly like an inquisitive dog... or wolf. Do something about it? He's thinking some sort of tease again, probably with magic. Pardon him if he looks completely skeptical.]

[She can't win them all. She laughs a little.]

I don't suppose you feel like giving me a ride.

[She's pretty sure the wolf thing isn't happening anymore, but he could get creative.]

[If he were anyone else, that comment would probably make his mind wander a bit, but yes the wolf thing is probably over.

Still, he scratches his chin and actually looks like he's in deep thought about the problem at hand as if Midna might have really been serious. He glances over his shoulder, back to her, and then back over his shoulder again.]

Piggyback?

[So yeah, he might be smirking a tiny bit. He can tease too, just not on Midna's level.]
