--okay, not only beginning, it was getting pretty bad. But you know when you get those little realisations in hindsight that changes the whole situation? Yeah, this is one of those, because if my past self knew about this, I'd be perfectly okay with waiting if it meant you'd eventually come up with this name. Well, then again, if I'd known, I would have just told you about it right away. Anyway. Little shops! It's brilliant! Almost worth all those months of you saying "I'll make you a journal one day, honest."

At least you are honest, I like honest.

So! Here I am, with a journal, got a bunch of my other selves about in this head of yours, and you've got a bunch of friends who have my friends in their heads of theirs. Where to now?

Impatient, hmm? Always running about? Always on the move? [There's a moment when it looks as if she's going to be cross. As if she's going to eclipse cross and be something more approaching terrifyingly angry. But then she brightens and she's all smiles and really, she's just happy to see him.]

[ He'll do the explaining, but have a hug first, together with lifting and swinging around and everything. You scared him for a bit there, silly thing. ]

I love little shops, that's all! Little shops make everything better.

[And he's getting hugged back just as hard as she can. Because it's her dad and she didn't know where he went and now he's here and it's just brilliant.] But what kind of little shops are we talking about?

No, no, little as in... Well, they're in hospitals or museums or... those sorts of places, and they're little... shops... for people to shop in. Bits and bobs. Those sorts of things.

[ Aaand he's pulling away now. ]

Oh. Those sorts of shops. [She doesn't really have any idea what he's talking about, but she's going to trust that he knows what he's saying.]
